It wasn't BS. Some statements made by Church leaders in the past have not been in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ. It is up to each of us to discover for ourselves what is "BS" and what is not, by searching, studying it, praying about and asking God.

Can't chat right now, sorry.

So truth is subjective in the church. A prophet can't be trusted?

Markk, relax a bit, okay? This isn't "crap," its someone's belief system. Men and Women run every single institution out there, and every religious group out there. I could go back through history and find racist statements in every religion. I particularly am proud of the racism I found in beloved Unitarianism. The point is, you can find out for yourself by asking God what is true and what is not. You cannot expect other people to tell you what to believe, and you certainly cannot expect people to be perfect. If you do, as Dr. McCoy would say "you're liable to be in for one hell of a disappointment."

So are you saying that the Millions of LDS members that did believe it were just wrong in their belief, that the leadership was wrong, and that Kimball lifted a ban on a lie? There is no accountability in your brand of Mormonism. It's kind of a Opp's did it again approach.

If these teachings get into the LDS teaching manuals is it Okay to say that the church teaches false doctrines at times?

and that means it isn't crap? It is BS, pure and simple.

then morgbutt tries this one: "It wasn't BS. Some statements made by Church leaders in the past have not been in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ. It is up to each of us to discover for ourselves what is "BS" and what is not, by searching, studying it, praying about and asking God."

Sorry boy, that is not what LDS top dogs on the porch teach any longer. OBEY, obey, obey. Blind Faith. Asking questions means you are on the road to apostacy. Since when did you really expect little kids indoctrinated by parents with 'testimony bearing' to actually ask questions? LDSinc is run by some mean old bastards as evidenced by Packer the hatemonger. They do not want questions. They discourage questions. They lie and live the high life on money from the cult while expecting the peons who pay to kiss their feet and asses and be thankful for the privilige.

They sit on the throne in front of the TV cameras, their lust for power just like the Mafia Dons they dress like but very different from those guys in that LDSinc big dogs love the cameras as long as they can control them. Broadcast reality and print the truth and real history and they scurry for the cracks like roaches in the light.

So morgbutt, have you come up with the real reasons Joseph Smith was arrested so many times yet?

Simon,

When a teaching is first taught, and it is as you say pondered, and prayed upon...how does it become LDS theology...?

How does the body as a whole accept it as doctrine or a true teaching and not a mistake by the prophet or apostle?
