Whether or not you're interested in proposing a paper, you might care to know that the 2011 annual meeting of the SMPT will be held 7-9 April 2011 on the BYU campus, and to know what its theme will be
Droopy? mfbukowski? You guys gonna send your precise in? The topic is how we can idly serve the Lord through our intellectual hobby horses.
I haven't decided whether or not I will present.
LoaP, the conference is at BYU this year, are you going to go this time -- BYU isn't beneath you, is it?
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.
LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.

Ouch!

Oh, dear! to be taken to task by a Lamanite!
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.
DCP is starting to alienate even the most enthusiastic young budding apologists. This can't be good for business.

It's truly a hazard for anyone arguing online, including me. By the way, S. Kent Brown really is a good egg.
“I was hooked from the start,” Snoop Dogg said. “We talked about the purpose of life, played Mousetrap, and ate brownies. The kids thought it was off the hook, for real.”
What blew me away on that thread was DCP's utter callousness. As a professor at Cassius, I would never, *EVER* treat a student that way! Unbelievable! Seriously: is DCP's stupid and useless ego really more important than helping this young student of Mopologetics to learn about the Gospel? DCP, it seems to me, is a faith-destroyer.

I think if you mixed Seth Payne and LifeonaPlate you would end up with something like me.
In this thread I was just a guy who wanted to point out the ridiculous assertion that Mormon faith claims can or have been supported by empirical evidence. It's a silly notion, and indefensible in my opinion. But I can't take DCP to school if he won't engage in a meaningful dialogue based on specific examples, as opposed to a belief rooted in abstract references and an unwillingness to take the time necessary to posit and defend a position.
I've met DCP on two or three occasions. Brief pleasantries. On one occasion at BYU we met each others wives. I thought we had a friendly rapport. Which is why I was surprised at his refusal to engage in a discussion that falls within certain academic rules.
Den again, I and I is not knowin crap about Democrat akadaymeeya!
