I previously posted,

I have to go check on a possibly dead cat now. I'll be back.

Let the record show that not one person on this thread had the human decency to ask about my cat.

Thanks a lot.

Hey, Paul, suppose that your registered moniker was "posborne" and where you learned to work on air conditioning systems and then you got upset that someone called you "Paul" on the board. Imagine that. You gave your first initial and your last name, but become indignant that someone calls you by your first name.

What are you trying to demonstrate with that, sock?

I do not think someone whose registered moniker is his or her first initial followed by his entire last name, coupled with his two alma mater, and has mentioned his profession on the board has a reasonable expectation of privacy of his first name. By contrast, Paul is being completely open about who is and not trying to hide behind a single tree that has a 2" trunk, like ttribe seems to be when he gets upset that his first name is used.

Of course I do. It's "Jersey". Seriously, I don't think I do. If it's been mentioned on MDB since I began participating, I don't recall it.

You can call me Ray or you can call me Jay . . . . (remember that beer commercial back in the 70's)

Please read the post your quoting from once again. Carefully.

I included both Mormonism and apologetics.

See it?

Having said that, it it weren't for their taking offense to both Mormonism and apologetics, the ex-Mo's on this board would largely have not a damn thing to discuss on this board.

Good bye.

Ah, i see, you are just making nonsensical comments that you can't back up with any actual examples...got it...you should have just said "i am going to post a bunch of ridiculous things that you should just accept because i am saying them" and i would have known to just skip the post...my bad for actually taking you seriously, wont happen again...

also, the fact that you actually have to tell people that you have them on ignore but somehow still read and respond to their posts is hilariously pathetic...

Sorry, but I can't condone this. I think ttribe has made a reasonable request. People who post information about themselves on the Internet should not be subjected to threats, regardless of whether they use their real names or post photos. No one should be blackmailed into anything.

OMG... a voice of reason in a sea of disingenuous insanity.

Proud to know you, sir.

Jersey Girl, I would like to ask you a very important question to satisfy your statement:

How is your cat? May I pet it please?

So RayA...

What are you going to do? Lobby Scratch to take it off his blog? Attempt to start a movement to change board rules?

Or should we take turns denounceing Scratch's actions till interest in this drops and Ttribe brings up again 2 months later somewhere else?

tribe,

If you're still out there...there have been times when I have felt incredibly attacked on a board. Not this board. I found that if I were patient, that eventually, others would "speak for me". Not necessarily those who always agreed with me, but those who would see a situation and have the independent spirit ( vs the herd mentality) that would allow them to wade through the BS and speak against it.

Ray is one of those people and those are the kinds of posts that you should dwell on.

Lessons learned in the trenches elsewhere!

I see it quite differently, Ray.

Scratch had ttribe's LinkedIn photo on Scratch's blog, in a piece on ttribe as the Mormon internet boards' unofficial nanny. ttribe made a big stink about it, Dr Scratch removed it and ttribe's nannying on MDB decreased. Recently, ttribe has been racheting up his board nannying. Scratch merely told ttribe in advance that the picture would be going back up on the blog. Nevertheless, ttribe couldn't help himself but get whinier and more board nannying. Bingo, the picture went back up. It would smack of blackmail if Scratch had not in fact went through and re-posted the picture. As he did, it looks more like Scratch was merely letting ttribe know in advance what the consequence would be of his actions. Obviously, Scratch saw his having taken down the picture as an act of good will, and would have continued it as long as ttribe kept his whiny/nannying factor below 5 on a 1-10 scale.
