It's when I read the egotistic, selfish comments by GOP supporters here that make me thankful I am Australian. Does God bless America with its history of racism, it's low wages to the poor, the wasteful living of those who want the Bush taxcuts permamant. I agree with Rev Wright, God damm America.

America needs to improve, but it's not like Australia is perfect in that regard either.

Pauline Hanson and One Nation
Cronulla riots

Not that Australia is terrible. In many ways it was ahead of its time and probably ahead of America in most regards. But don't forget, we did elect a black man as president.

it's low wages to the poor,

Conservatives and democrats differ in how to address this. Ultimately neither side thinks it's a good idea to just give handouts to the poor--in fact most poor people don't want handouts even though they want help. They have their dignity. Conservatives and liberals differ on how to best help those people earn better wages. Mucking with the economy through minimum wage is one way, but it has consequences (including setting up the hidden market of undocumented workers). Setting up programs is another way which also has consequences and doesn't always work (it's hard to go to study when you have kids to take care of and never-ending bills to pay).

the wasteful living of those who want the Bush taxcuts permamant.

What do I care if someone is richer than me? I have sufficient for my family. The only reason I want taxes in the first place is to fund vital programs in the government such as defense, welfare, etc. I agree that wasteful living isn't very admirable, but I don't much like the idea of forcing people to care for others. Keeping our citizens from needless suffering? Yes, we should do that. Keeping them from being greedy? Nope, not the government's job.

I'm glad you're not an American as well, because you wouldn't deserve American citizenship if you were.

i am glad Droopy then I would not have a chance to meet someone like you. Everytime you write something you come accross as a cross between Bill O'Reilly and Bernie Goldberg. Talk over people, never admit some others could be right and you wrong. Anyway who would want citizenship in a country that got it's wealth from slavery.
