Cute.

There wasn't a need for answers because this story was fabricated.

No, quite on the contrary, he is simply trying to get the missionary to focus on what is important.

Of course he is trying to get the missionary to focus on what he thinks is important, which is maintaining a belief despite contradictory evidence, which emotions/spiritual experiences coupled with the interpretations that the church teaches we should take from them can have tremendous influence over how an individual decides what is correct. Now Emotions/spiritual expereinces are important and do influence us but they should not influence us to ignore what we don't like, but many do just that whether LDS or not, and even I am can still be guilty of this.

All answers can be answered, but answering them is less important than focusing on the spirit.

I assume you meant questions. Sure any question can be answered, but are all answer correct or even close. Of course members are taught that internal emotions or sensations and such are from some supernatural being, but this interpretation is not likely, but it does serve the purpose of many religions and conmen. :)

Once you focus on the spirit, answering them becomes much easier.

Only because we can come up with any answer for any questions, but when these answers are based on these emotions/spirit they are very unlikely to be accurate. We can see this not only with LDS but every where we look we see people doing just that and coming up with more wrong answers then right compared to rationally looking at the evidence with as much open mindedness as one can muster.

That's what we get for ignoring the evidence in favor of our emotions confirming what others have taught long ago who had no real idea about geology and such

No bitterness or cynicism, just understanding.

Mr. Ballard has wisdom, that he does.

He certainly does. By studying the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, the Book of Moses, and the Book of Abraham, we can feel the Spirit and focus on what is important. What is important is that our Heavenly Father set up the Plan of Salvation for us, that Jesus Christ is the Savior, that Joseph Smith is the Prophet of the Restoration, and that the authority of the Priesthood is on the Earth today. I am thankful for modern prophets like Rulon T. Jeffs who have helped us feel the Spirit and focus on what is important.

While a few might be based(barely) on a true situation, all are socially engineered by psychologists at LDS HQ to trigger confirmations of biases that members had inserted into their minds at a young age.

Can you be more clear about differentiating opinion from fact? What is your basis for this argument?

He's lucky the missionary didn't take him at his word. Had he actually applied himself to the scriptures, he would have flown home within a week.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.
