Is Fashion Place the old Cottonwood Mall in Murray?
God has the right to create and to destroy, to make like and to kill. He can delegate this authority if he wishes to. I know that can be scary. Deal with it.

No. Fashion Place Mall is located on State Street and approximately 6400 South. The Cottonwood Mall was located on 2000 East and approximately 5000 South. Cottonwood Mall has been reduced to make way for a housing project that lost its funding and now sits as an open field with the remains of the old ZCMI building operating as a Macy's

For the life of me, I do not understand why anyone would shop there.
Crates & Barrels of cash are required to buy even the smallest of knick-knacks at Crate & Barrel.
Then again I am a guy and the mall is nothing but a giant chick shop.

That was the biggest mistake tearing that down. Holladay City lost a lot of money in tax revenue. Nobody goes there anymore, except for Macy's.
I lived up there for 20 years. The mall was always busy. Now it is just an empty hole in the ground.
I know what would bring revenue to the place! Get the cult to build another temple there! They need at least 60 more temples in Utah before 2050 anyway, so why not there?
Unfortunately, the only revenue it'd bring it would be to LDS Inc.

I, too, weep for the passing of the Cottonwood Mall...

While many will not shop at City Creek Mall due to parking hassles, it will rake in cash during General Conferences. If those other Malls such as Fashion Place and Gateway should prove too competitive, it would only take one letter from the First Presidency read aloud during Sacrament Meetings to drum up business.

So twice per year, it rakes in some cash...
READ: Deseret Book. The Food Court.
Apostle: Write a tiny bit of a talk on sticky notes, maybe some toilet paper. Hand said notes to a group of writers. Writers create a talk. Talk is reviewed by Apostle. Talk is reviewed by team of lawyers. Talk is then reviewed by committee. Talk is revised. Talk is reviewed by team of lawyers. Talk is then reviewed by committee. Talk is delivered via General Conference. Talk is revised. Talk is published in Church Magazines sold to members and sold at Deseret Book.. $$ Cha-ching $$. Talk is published in some silly ass book by Apostle and sold at Deseret Book. $$ Cha-ching $$. Apostle later dies, books on Apostle's life are published with said talk. $$ Cha-ching $$.
