Just found this article from September on scams perpetrated on the faithful, worth a look if you haven't seen it..

A new project with a sort deadline, along with hosting Thanks Giving has kept me just dropping in and out (mostly out). I'll check back when I can.

There is a serious danger in any belief system that favors "good feelings" as a valid indicator of truth. Add to that the notion of these "chosen" saints that they are so special and favored in the eyes of God that the wildly lucrative opportunity presented to them is not too good to believe.

God is not in get-rich-quick schemes. God is in work-hard-and-be-rewarded schemes.

I disagree. The opportunity to work is itself a blessing. Ask anyone who is currently unemployed.

Interesting article. It is not so much trust a it is greed and the feeling of entitlement too many morons have. They belong to the righteous reserved for the Last Days and feel they deserve more than others do. Greed that is faith based even though wrong drives many of these people who often know they are breaking the law but believe just as Moroni that it is OK because God wants it that way.

It was wrong then and it is wrong now. They deserve to lose everything when their greed overrides their common sense. That they are taken by 'fellow members' is just fine. Keep it in house and leave decent people alone.

I get somewhat bothered by the implication that these are all good, innocent people who get victimized by scam artists. There is definitely a sense of entitlement and chosenness that plays in to the decision to make the unwise investment.
