Do you even know me? What is the basis for this statement. Don't use that term. It is needlessly offensive. Do you really think saying that word is acceptable?

I wonder if we could get your challenge out to the newly displaced residents of the 79 room Ogden Motel Jskains?jskains wrote:I challenge this board and it's real motives.
The challenge is simple. Chose one single day between now and Christmas in which nothing negative is said about the Church or its people. You don't have to say positive things, but you spend that one day talking about anything but the Church, things related to it, or the people in it.
I even Triple Dog Dare ya. :)

Some of the poor, attacked and beleaguered LDS church leaders will be spending a cold and lonely winter here:

I think society has created a war on words needlessly because people need something to complain about. But the wars are selective. Like we destroy people's careers over the use of the "n" word, but we giggle when whites are called "white bread", "cracker", or other negative terms.
I also find it humorous that people who are supposedly the "good guys" end up using the very terms themselves.
For example, people who are "fighting" for "gay rights" will often use homosexuality as an insult. "Oh, your just against gay marriage because you are a closet homo".
This desprate drive in recent years to be perfectly "PC" has gone too far. And I think we choose to be insulted by these terms because we need conflict in our lives.
I think that goes for LDS "critics" as well. People like negative conflict, so they build chat boards, websites, publish papers, and distribute magazines slamming on the church to fill some void in their lives.

Listen, the term is unnecessary and offensive in nearly every context. It offends me because of my son. Using that slur to insult someone, in my mind, insults my son. It's fine to use if you are trying to be offensive, but it makes you look bad. Real bad. I have never even spoken to you and you don't know me, but you insist on defending a poor choice of words and then dictating how I really feel. I have never insulted you or ever said anything to offend you, please return the favor. This has nothing to do with Mormonism, it's about human respect. If you wish to not offend me and others, do not use that term. I also think an apology is in order, but I am content if you cease being needlessly cruel.

You realize skains isn't exactly known for being nice, right?
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

I think all the anti-Mormon evangelical ministries should put you on their payroll. You do them a great service. You might as well get paid!

Just another reminder that most of the participants are either punk teenagers or partially r******* adults.

I wonder if Simon will step in to be the moral voice against using offensive terminology?
Simon, where are you at?

Your not going to get me to bow to your PC demands. There are more offensive terms used here in a single day than I use in weeks. Morg or Morbot or any of the dozen terms here to imply if your Mormon, your a mentally broken unintelligent drone of the Church, but do you stand against those? Of course not.

Well, according to a few on this board, he is my sock puppet. So why would I log in as him and make that claim?
