Looking to improve the web site www.bookofabraham.com

Hello all,
I’m hoping to harness the power of the Bloggernacle/DAMU. In the spirit of internet “crowd-sourcing,” I’m hoping to improve a web site that I’ve run the last few years. I’m the registered owner of the domain name, http://www.bookofabraham.com. I bought the domain name years ago, and have created a humble, DIY-style web-page that has been OK…nothing great, but it at least gets the story out there. Ultimately I just want to help others discover the truth about the Book of Abraham. My goal is to update the site.

What I am hoping for is to find someone (or even a small team of people) who might be interested in building the site, both cosmetically and substantively. I've basically run out of steam, and to be truthful, the site has been on autopilot for several years. The beautiful thing about having a domain name with the words “Book of Abraham” in the domain title is that it will ALWAYS be toward the top of an internet search. Go ahead, google the term “Book of Abraham” and you will find my web site in the top five search results…and I don’t pay a dime in advertising costs. Anyway, I think that the site could be improved by some of the great minds out there!!

by the way – I still can't believe I beat a multi-billion dollar corporation to the domain name of one of their primary scripture books. I mean, come on, how simple would it have been for the church to simply cyber-squat on a few hundred domain names back when the whole internetz started?!?! Prophets, my ass!! They sure didn't prophesy the coming of the internet!! Sometimes we give those guys in the COB too much credit. They're just regular guys...and they're getting really old.

Yeah on LDS Inc being technologically smart... right. If there is a god who is Mormon, he played a cruel joke on the leaders by not telling them about the ARPANET which many years later lead to the rolling forth of the great wad of truth about every damn thing, including Mormonism.

Agreed. You are underestimating the degree to which TBM's are impervious to evidence.

You do indeed have the holy grail of Book of Abraham websites domain names and great search stats. You should defnitely exploit that to it's full potential. I might be able to help.

On the technical end, I know someone that might be able to help you. He's a prof web designer that oferred his services to my site and helped it quite a bit. I will contact him on your behalf.

Also, I have a pretty comprehensive site on the Book of Abraham. The Book of Abraham is what did it for me beliefwise so I've researched it a fair amount. I've even had dinner with one of the Egyptologists that examined the papyri (a copy actually as the church won't let anyone else near the original) and wrote a paper on it.

Eyepatch: www.bookofabraham.com is an atrocious looking website that is liable to put people into seizures when they look upon its highly contrasted colors and third grade design. Also, you used an embedded style sheet, which is an amateur folly. In addition, you haven't used XHTML standards of tag opening/closing (for example, <br>, when standing alone should be <br/>).

Basically, you would be better off having blogger or some other service design the site for you.
