Thank goodness for baseball baptisms! They don't fill pews, but they sure have padded the numbers.

Wow. Do you realize what 267,452,000 Mormons means?
60,000,000 NOMs
40,000,000 disaffected Mormons
100,000,000 jack Mormons (the kind that think they know all the issues and feel okay about breaking the WoW)
10,000,000 Utah members paying 95% of the tithing for the whole church
57,000,000 world-wide members paying 5% of the tithing for the whole church
452,000 members getting paid by the church to keep it running. They don't leave for obvious reasons
Why don't they let people post comments on MormonTimes? My comments would really come in handy!

Trotter said the LDS Church ... does not claim to be the fastest-growing Christian denomination[.]
Hmm. I have about 200 Facebook friends who haven't gotten the memo.

Well, as long as they keep counting me, as they do, I can't say I can't find too much meaning in these numbers reports.

Wow, they're up to 14 million? On a related note, the world population is projected to hit 7 Billion this year. Only 6,986,000,000 baptisms to go.

I wonder how many of these 14 million know they're Mormons.

Really?
Not according to most missionary experiences. It was a numbers game.

Yep, when my mission president called for 1,000 baptisms in a month, it wasn't about numbers at all. I'm sure most of the 970 people they baptized had genuine conversion experiences and are still active today.
