Re: Tyler Anderson and the Problem of Heroification
I would like to add my support for adding Eric's research to the Encyclopedia of Mopologetics, Second Edition. His quality work on the Mopologist Tyler Anderson must be preserved for the perusal of scholars and laypeople alike.

How can Pahoran be accused of buttkissing? He's one of the insiders.
How much of the behavior of junior apologists can be attributed to a certain neediness--a certain desire to look good in the eyes of DCP, Midgley, Gee, and Hamblin?
Who are these juniors and do they self identify as juniors?
As I was mulling over this issue with some of my colleagues at Cassius, I remembered an interesting case from a couple of years ago--namely, the launching of a Facebook fanpage devoted to Dr. Peterson:
Daniel cannot be held accountable for the foolishness of... fools.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

This link just directs me to my Facebook homepage. Is it working for any of you?

Has it been deleted? I would imagine that you can still view it via Google cache.

Oh my. It looks like Junior Mopologist Anderson deleted his Facebook shrine to Daniel Peterson, and very recently too. I don't think it would be unreasonable to assume that this thread is what prompted Tyler to try and hide his "Fan Page dedicated to the admiration of an insightful scholar, powerful apologist,..."
Here is the Google cache page:

And I could be wrong but it looks like the Google cache page announcing the Facebook Page over at the aptly named MAD board has been removed. Hmm... .
Post #8 (by Tyler Anderson) is pretty funny:

Well, Eric, your post would seem to confirm my suspicions. I wonder why young Mr. Anderson deleted it, though? I mean, this was---as you point out---practically a "shrine." Did Mr. Anderson decide that it was a liability to be associated with DCP?

Small potatos compared to your recent nefarious doings. Still hiding from responding I see.

There are also embarrassing typos, such as when Anderson describes DCP as having a "manevolent testimony."
Doesn't seem to fit the defintion of "typo". But it does seem to fit the definition of lying.

That's an interesting interpretation, BC. I wouldn't have thought to characterize his statement as a "lie," but as I suppose wenglund would say, "To each his own."
