Ray,

There is no possible way that Porter is Joseph. Whatever impression you may have developed of Porter, I can tell you that you are wrong.

Porter is intelligent, creative and humorous.
Joseph is a dullard.

Posting under one's in real life name isn't required on a board like this and I personally, wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I've accepted that, Jersey Girl, it's just that their approach seemed uncannily similar, but I should have given it more thought - Porter knows how to use the quote function.

I definitely agree with your second sentence. (But yes, Porter has and can do good posts, but I've never felt comfortable with this idea of "targeting Mormons" for deconversion; it sounds like something out of radical Islam)

I don't think it's a good idea either. My point was that anonymity does, whether we like it or not, give "license" to say things we would not say if posting under our real names. There have been numerous debates about this on the Internet (just Google), and I mentioned before that some media are seriously thinking of making it compulsory for those who want to comment on media articles to use their real names, because libelous and crude commentary has clearly got out of hand. I see it in my local media all the time, and 90% of them wouldn't have the balls to say what they do under their real names.

by the way, you don't post often enough.

I agree with you that anonymity gives people a chance to say what they would never say in real life.

On the other hand, I want you to know that I have never "said" anything online that I wouldn't say straight up looking the other person in the eye, in real life.

:-)

It doesn't sound like lds-inc 'targeting' sections of an area for intense missionary proselyting and door knocking?

Whats wrong, you can't take it when it is directed at TheLard'sAnointed'?

How many Mormons have you deconverted in real life? Is it your aim to deconvert your family and/or friends who are LDS (if you have such family)?

Do you think it would be unethical of him to try and deconvert(not sure that's a word) people, and if yes why?

The question was directed at Joseph. Don't assume what I'm thinking. I'd like Joseph to answer the question.
