I don't think public officials should be passing out their religions printed material as a response to a question about policy. It is "ramming your religion down someones throat" when a government official directs one to read a given religions works in order to get an explanation of their position.

The "Proclamation" is official.
The "Proclamation" is not doctrinal.

Simple case, step forward.

I think apologists everywhere would agree. He also didn't add that they should be pregnant, barefoot and slaving over a hot stove. Apologists would need to anxiously rub their hands together if he did and point out, "... not necessarily all women".

I see no reason that fathers can't stay home and care for children.

The only reason Sen Smith says mothers should stay home to care for children is because he sees that duty as beneath him.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Ah, that proclaiming thing. Let me focus on these stellar nuggests:

My objection is the idea that both parents work in order to afford a mansion. I would wager that most mansions have a stay at home mom. He has no clue what the real world is like. That being said, my first wife was a stay at home. That was really tough for me to come up with the money while I was in school. We were wicked poor and we didn't need to be.

It is silliness to think that society or the children are harmed in some way by going to child care. Over here, babies go into kindergarten and start learning at one. Now is someone going to point out a high drug use, crime, broken home, welfare, or misery rate for frickin' Norway?

No, it's not silliness. It's the god's honest truth, STS. Are you aware of the standard of child care environments in the US?

It is silliness to think that Mom makes much more than minimum wage when she pays for full time child care.

Over here, babies go into kindergarten and start learning at one. Now is someone going to point out a high drug use, crime, broken home, welfare, or misery rate for frickin' Norway?

Comparing the standard of care in the US to Norway is like comparing a McDonald's drive through to a gourmet restaurant.

The system of early education in Norway is NOTHING like that of the US.

Oh, ask me why.

His wife looks thoroughly harassed and browbeaten - like a timid shell of a woman.
