Here's one of my favorite things from the Master of Philosophy's blog:

1. Doctor CamNC4Me was duped by the Church.
2. The Church is like “a leaf on the ground.”
3. Therefore, Doctor CamNC4Me can be duped by a leaf on the ground.

This is a wonderful example of the syllogistic fallacy of the illicit minor.

Point 2 of this syllogism is a simile. In his conclusion of this fallacious syllogism, Simon Belmont takes a simile---and takes it out of context---as if it were an affirmative, factual statement.

I am seriously considering an online petition, demanding that Simon Belmont's alma mater refund his tuition and fees paid in the course of earning his master's degree in philosophy. Obviously, his university did not deliver what was promised and paid for.

Anyone who would like to be included in such a petition, please let me know.
