All of the supernatural characters of Christianity

Post by _Buffalo »

were stolen from the pagans. Doesn't that ring any alarm bells for you TBMs and Christians? Not even a little?

There are many things that give people pause regarding their beliefs. Its a matter of looking into the matters that give pause. "All" the supernatural characters? Are you sure of that? I mean the angel Gabriel?

Even Gabriel was borrowed. Elohim was a Canaanite God with a "heavenly council," which was made up of other Gods. During the Babylonian exile, the last vestiges of these other gods were relegated to a lesser status and Asherah was omitted completely... though some say her current form is the virgin Mary.

Oh yes. Even Satan was once one of the gods.

Jesus the man was just a man. If we imagine that he's Jehovah/Yahweh, he originated in in the area of Edom as a warrior god and was added into the El pantheon later, originally as a son of El, and then later as a replacement for the original El.

I think I can predict how others will answer that, however, I would like to see more explanations on the thread (links to supporting material) instead of the simple assertions that exist thus far.
