If TBMs didn't masturbate...

Can you imagine all the tension during the Sunday 3-hour block? It's likely that fist fights would break out regularly.

I was always taught by my mother that God cries a little bit each time one of his children "touches" themself.
Who dares tell me that my mother was wrong?

Lol. that is really sad and really funny.
SP, great question! I don't know where to start or what to say except just sit here and chuckle.

I'm a mother and I can tell you she's wrong. God doesn't care. He's been trying to get that through to BKP for decades, but Packer gets stuck and then doesn't listen.

I have a little question about M.
SP, indulge me a bit as I derail your thread slightly here (I don't feel like starting a new one on this subject).
I've noticed since the ripe age of 13, that adult males in my church circles started discussing this topic in my priesthood classes and in private settings (i.e. bishop interviews). Since the church does not explicitly command adult males to discuss this topic frequently with boys (maybe I'm wrong about that?), could it be that the adult males are harboring some sexual baggage themselves? Could it be that many adult LDS males have unresolved sexual issues (and misconceptions) from their own childhood that causes them to push these on to children around them? Maybe my bishop still had guilt about masturbating as a 13-15 year old and felt that by preventing other boys from doing the same, he was in a way, relieving himself from the memories?
Thoughts?

Second question:
What are bishops told to ask children about masturbation? How much is their own personal seasoning and how much is direct command from COB? Does anyone know?
Are bishops told from above to ask children if they masturbate? If not, why do they ask it?
Funny I don't know the answer to this...

I recall once as a teenage boy my bishop asked me about the M-word. I was probably 16 and though I had an idea what it was, I really didn't get it. I didn't really get how it worked. pep pep. Anyway, my point is, I never even thought of it until he asked. As it turned out I never really got into it at all. Perhaps the best way to keep people from doing it is to stop talking about it. I don't know.
Perhaps it is talked about so much because men do have problems with it. They think since its bad, its best not to even give it a try, so they harp and harp. Or perhaps they think getting a handle on it (pun intended) while they're young is the best route to take. I don't know this junk, obviously. I can't imagine asking kids about something like this.
