Welcome to the Millennium

Post by _JudgemeGod »

With all the earth shaking events happening in the world such as earthquakes, tsunami, wars and rumors of wars and all the hardship and agony that goes with it. I have wondered When will it end ?
As I study the Mormon theology I realize that Mormonism is an end days religion or apocalyptic even the name, Latter-Day Saints is last days. When the Mormon church started there was a lot to do with the end of the world, the destruction of the wicked and the coming of Christ. I don't seem to hear much about the coming “Millennium” any more.
I don't hear much “repent for the end is neigh even at our door”.
What happened to the last minute of the last hour of the last day ? I was told about.

From what I understand the earth will only have 7000 years of a temporal existence (D&C 77) and Christ will come in the beginning of the 7000th year and rule for a thousand years. Now based on a few Bible chronologies we must be in the last 1000 years already.
I have heard a few debates about these being off for example the Jewish calender puts the year at 5771 giving us over 200 years to not worry about burning.
I found that the discrepancy between the two time lines comes between
The Kings ( Zedekiah ) and the birth of Christ.

I would like to say thanks to the Book of Mormon this debate about the time line has ended.

Because 600BC is equal to the first year of the reign of Zedekiah, the Jewish calender is out and we are firmly in the last 1000 years.

I would like to be the first to welcome everyone to the Millennium.

Because the wicked are still here I have to assume the Rapture happed and all the righteous were taken up to meet Christ and the wicked were left.
That must have been what happed to the Stake that was closed.

I have searched for any missing congregations and I have found none in Utah, only in Miyagi and Indonesia.

So what happed to the end of the world ?
What happed to the Latter-Days ?
What happed to 7000 years of temporal existence ?
Why build the Mega mall if Christ comes before it is paid for ? Or even built ?

Were is the peace I was promised ?
Did Christ call from the Vadican or Salt Lake city ?

When it ends.

Yes, which is why I think we have at least a few decades and expect we have centuries.

I don't hear much “repent for the end is neigh even at our door”.

Then I will tell you to repent for the end is near. If not the Millenium then your death.

What happened to the last minute of the last hour of the last day ? I was told about.

It comes when it comes.

From what I understand the earth will only have 7000 years of a temporal existence (D&C 77) and Christ will come in the beginning of the 7000th year and rule for a thousand years. Now based on a few Bible chronologies we must be in the last 1000 years already.

I think you are mistaken. Most of the biblical time discrepancies come between Joseph of Egypt and the reighns of the kings. Most of it would be during the time of the Judges.

I would like to say thanks to the Book of Mormon this debate about the time line has ended.

Because 600BC is equal to the first year of the reign of Zedekiah, the Jewish calender is out and we are firmly in the last 1000 years.

See above.

I would like to be the first to welcome everyone to the Millennium.

It hasn't started. When it does you will know. Everyone will know.

Because the wicked are still here I have to assume the Rapture happed and all the righteous were taken up to meet Christ and the wicked were left.

Do a little more research. The LDS faith does not believe in a rapture.

That must have been what happed to the Stake that was closed.

I have searched for any missing congregations and I have found none in Utah, only in Miyagi and Indonesia.

See above.

So what happed to the end of the world ?

Still coming.

What happed to the Latter-Days ?

Still happening.

What happed to 7000 years of temporal existence ?

Still ongoing.

Why build the Mega mall if Christ comes before it is paid for ? Or even built ?

It should be finished and possibly even have time to get run down before the end.

Were is the peace I was promised ?

You weren't promised any peace.

Did Christ call from the Vadican or Salt Lake city ?

He hasn't called in yet. When he does you will know. You'll either be spared or consumed by fire. If you're dead you will see it from there. Watch for it.

When I was a kid, listening to church leaders way back when, we were told repeatedly that we were the very choicest spirits, saved to come to Earth in the last days, so we could be here to stand valiant at Christ's second coming.

I'm now in my mid 40's and MY children are getting old enough to have their own kids.

I'll bet lots of other folks here heard that same crap when they were kids.

They're probably still using that line on the youth. Mormon leaders to get a new pick-up line.

No doubt the Brethren will tell us about 20 years after it starts.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

Daniel's stone cut out of the mountain without hands is the marker between the fall of the kingdoms of this world and the rise of the Millenium Zion.

It has been made bare in the eyes of all the people as of this year formally.

Since nobody gives a crap I expect that the "thief in the night" is most likely how the world will be caught unawares.

My little out on the time clock is that Christ life of 33 years must be subtracted from the earth temporal existence calender as it was a meridian of time. See you in 2034. Because the time God was in the world cannot be counted temporal. See D&C 29 for that.

I know that meridian does not mean an exemption or suspension but a zenith or high point, possibly a division. But the impression I always got from the scriptures was that of an exemption to things/time as usual. So, just sayin'.

It only occurs in LDS scriptures. But Christ himself refers to it:

D&C 39:
1 Hearken and listen to the voice of him who is from all eternity to all eternity, the Great bI Am, even Jesus Christ—
2 The light and the life of the world; a light which shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehendeth it not;
3 The same which came in the meridian of time unto mine own, and mine own received me not;
4 But to as many as received me, gave I power to become my sons; and even so will I give unto as many as will receive me, power to become my sons.

I think the JW's were right. The world ended in October of 1914. No, 1918. Err, 1925. Oops, 1975. Maybe soon.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

No offence, Nightlion (you're still my only Prophet), but I think that all of them were/ are wrong.

Predictions of the end of the world, armageddon the rapture, etc. being "just around the corner" and "in our lifetimes" have been made by someone every year for the last couple of thousand years.

We're still waiting.

Personally, if I had to predict, I would say that the end of the world will come during the first two weeks of the Sarah Palin presidency:

Never. Although the sun is expected to burn out in 5 billion years or so,

As I study the Mormon theology I realize that Mormonism is an end days religion or apocalyptic even the name, Latter-Day Saints is last days. I don't seem to hear much about the coming “Millennium” any more.

Because religion is a business, and too many religious groups have been discredited when their precision "end of time" dates have failed.

Because 600BC is equal to the first year of the reign of Zedekiah, the Jewish calender is out and we are firmly in the last 1000 years.

If 600 BC is your date then you're already past 1000 years.

600+2011= 2611 years
Whatever appears to be against the Book of Mormon is going to be overturned at some time in the future. So we can be pretty open minded.-charity 3/7/07
