Apologetic argument of the day

This was posted on my blog in response to my mention of anachronisms in the Book of Mormon. It speaks for itself in its sheer brilliance:
This only holds up if we assume the Book of Mormon is not scripture.
However, if we assume that it is scripture, just as inspired as the Bible, then there is no plagiarism, as God does not plagiarize himself.

Simple in it's genius. It also explains the Book of Mormon's Elizabethan English. For, as we all know, God is both English and from the 16th century.

It is surprising how easy it is to satisfy some people.

Is Charity trolling your blog?
“Being against something automatically puts a person in the losing camp. The person who gets to be FOR a position wins the argument. …
So what can the anti-Mormon's do? If they want to adopt a pro position, they can't attack, because they have to advance a positive position. Then they can't have the fun of pot shots. Flaming arrows. Poisoned darts.
So the anti's are set up to lose. Oh, yes. And we have the truth on our side.”

Or, how about we just assume that the Book of Mormon is scripture. End of story.

Oh come on, Runtu, this gal/guy got you good. You have to admit. Anachronisms you say? Well, If God wrote the Book of Mormon then its true like the Bible and there's no plagiarism at all. Also, if ever you are tempted to suggest the papyri does not translate into the English Book of Abraham, then realize such a criticism doesn't work because the D&C is pretty much revelation given to Joseph Smith and a few others and if God gave that revelation then we know its good and true.
Its all over for you critic-types.

Another bit of brilliance. It would solve so many problems. Of course we would all have to find something besides the MDB to occupy our free time. Maybe Temple work?

I guess I don't understand what the D&C has to do with the Book of Abraham papyri not translating. Or how she got him 'good.' Hers was a "God told me so" argument.

If I didn't have a long history with this commenter, I'd say you might be right. He's been commenting on my blog for almost 2 years, and he's never shown any propensity toward humor. Usually, he's more rational than this last comment of his.
