Can God Not Hear the Prayers of Women?

Women have never been allowed or asked to give a prayer in any session of the General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Not ever.
Does God not deem the prayers of women worthy of reception?

God may not hear women's prayers, but He counts their tears.
"Men should be careful lest they cause women to weep, for God counts their tears." -Talmud

Just Me, what you don't realize is that although women cannot say prayers in GC, they can bear children, which men can't do. God's plan is to value each gender equally but only allow them to operate in certain areas. Men can do everything and run everything, but they can't have babies. Only women can do that. That should make you feel better.

Hi Just me,
God can indeed hear the prayers of woman, he just can't understand them. :)
Peace,

Woman: "Oh Lord, hear my prayers!"
God: "(Santa Laugh) Now now dear, which wife number are you?"

Hey Ceeboo,
While it's likely true god doesn't understand women, he can justify not answering their prayers because when women talk about what's bothering them, they just want someone to listen. It's men that tell you their problems in order to have you suggest solutions.
Hope this clears things up for ya.

To be serious, this really does bother me. I'd like to know what the official explanation is. Along with the dress code of no pants mentioned in moksha's thread, it speaks to the seeming paternalism or patriarchy of the LDS Church.
Calling all apologists! Please help us to understand this.

In all honesty I got nothing. I don't see why in the world only men say the prayers. It seems stupid. Someday it'll change...we can hope.

Remember, women were not allowed to say prayers in Sacrament meeting until about forty years ago... then it was only the opening or closing, (still is in some areas). So, hey, they are moving along. Another forty years and who knows, women may not only be able to say prayers in GC but they may also be able to give more than one five minute talk per session; the topic may even be expanded to something more womanhood or obeying the priesthood.
No, women's prayers are not as important or powerful as men's in the LDS church. Blessings for children do not work unless they are given by a man, God doesn't hear prayers to heal the sick unless they are given by a man, and basically unless you are a man, your prayers just do not work so well.
