For all who believe that a Great Apostasy happened AND believe that priesthood must be passed on from one holder to the next, I have a couple of questions.

37 That they may be conferred upon us, it is true; but when we undertake to cover our sins, or to gratify our pride, our vain ambition, or to exercise control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any degree of unrighteousness, behold, the heavens withdraw themselves; the Spirit of the Lord is grieved; and when it is withdrawn, Amen to the priesthood or the authority of that man.

Does not matter is there is a line of succession, once there is no virtue then they are passing on a dead form. There is a moment when the Lord will no longer validate, or be obliged to participate.

We are presently witnessing the fall of the LDS Church for the same reasons. The day of the Gentiles ends with the Church of the Gentiles, the Mormons sinning against the gospel and it is TAKEN from them. See 3 Nephi chapter 16.
