Have the fine folks running l-dsinc submitted the papyrus the Book of Abraham was 'translated' from(including the facsimilies) to a number of Egyptologists so they could study them and see if Joethecoxman really got anything right?
All the stuff I read saying he was blowing smoke are older. Now that they have this stuff, why not let it be checked out? They keep telling us it is true so why be afraid?
Add in the actual writing of Abraham and some other old Bible jokers and you have a find the Christian world will be amazed by. The oldest confirmed writings around. (joe confirmed it and he is a true prophet, right?)
Would be so easy. They could even get the great minds of BYU to check it out in double secret basement labs or something. Surely they still have the labs left over from the anthrax work they used to do for the US Military and US Government?

Again, do you really expect anyone to do your homework for you? Look it up, idiot. Google it. In fact, search the freaking MDB forums (though, since you can't figure out the quote feature I shouldn't expect you to be able to figure out the search function). The information is all right there, right at your finger tips. You don't need to waste storage space by posting every inane question that comes to your pea-brain.

I imagine that every day Egyptologist Dr. John Gee prays for ways to prove the truth of the Book of Abraham derived from these papyri. Is that and his BYU salary not sufficient proof?

What Simon was avoiding saying was - yes, they have.
Including LDS Egyptologists.
Guess what...Simon was correct, Joseph does appear to have been 'STOOPID'
Have a gander through the information on the site MormonThink.

I think not. I don't have ganders through blatantly anti-Mormon sites, and the fact that you get all your information from them says a lot about you and confirms my already held beliefs about you.
You're one small step above the poster Joseph in the intelligence scale.

Ignoring your fallacy of attacking the source, which independent Egyptologist has verified Joseph's translation of the papyrus?

Hi Simon, I'm gutted - after all the admiration and respect that I have for you...
Anyway, let's assume that in time I'll get over it.
Simon, can you point to a single Egyptologist that fully supports Joseph Smith's translation of the papyri?
Also, can you explain why the Prophet, Seer and Revelator passed the papyri on to Mr Nibley when it was rediscovered in the 60's rather than translate it himself - which I think you believe he is the best qualified person to do so?
No, didn't think so...

John Gee.

John Gee.
'The extant fragments do not contain any text from the Book of Abraham.'
John Gee's conclusion taken from FARMS.
So, expert conclusion from John Gee is - we don't have the papyri that Joseph Smith used.
Now, how can an expert in Egyptology fully support a translation from Egyptian when he has never seen the documents that were used...?
Brilliant.

Silly Joseph, the papyrus was a funerary text but embedded in it was code within every second, third or forth syllable was deciphered to bring about the hidden meaning as found in the Book of Abraham. Egyptologists are not going to recognize the Book of Abraham when all they can see is a funerary document. The actual facsimilies and the seer stone are used to help decipher the key to break the code. I mean sheesh your always so negative about these things.
