With the idea of animal sacrifice being restored and bigbrig saying a room for it was to be part of the salt lake temple, anyone raising animals to sell to the church? Or is this the real driving force behind l-dsinc having all those big farms, to raise their own animals to kill in the temple?

offered there." [Journal of Wilford Woodruff, December 18, 1857, Archives]

With LDS' zeal to be considered more mainstream Christianity, LDS will never consider performing animal sacrifices again.

Word on the street is every time filet mignon is served to the brethren, the chop steaks are offered to Jehovah on the alter located in the COTPOTCOJCOLDS executive dining room.

I've considered it and expect it will happen. The 'mainstreaming' everyone says is more an attempt to get our beliefs and lifestyle out there rather then to make Christians think we are 'just like them'. The CoC has been trying to do this for years and has been willing to go much farther then we will ever be willing to and they still haven't succeeded.

The claim to being Christian is not something that we recently came up with; it is just something we've recently had a pulpit from which to share. Give it a few more years and the media will probably shift gears again and we'll probably go back to being portrayed as weirdos again.

All of this has happened before and all of it will happen again. There is nothing new under the sun.

A revelation, Buff.

No need to make a special room in the Temple for animal sacrifices (all that mess to clean up). Just give a blessing to all slaughter houses and butcheries in the Corridor and we're on our way. Holy leg of lamb. Mmmm! Tastes much better when blessed (and a little mint sauce).

I don't see how animal sacrifice would fit back into the Mormon picture. What is it about blood and fat burning on a alter have anything to do with Mormonism, other than being a typology for Christ's death?

The LDS church won't even allow meal preparation in the church kitchens.

It is highly unlikely they will ever get past regulations needed in order to turn the temple into a slaughter house.

This silly 'rule' and reality in the kitchens of the wards and branches is very different.

Tis true. I think it would be a little more difficult to fudge the rules on animal slaughter.

Isn't that enough?
