MDB Shows Why Truth Gets Lost

BECAUSE WE ALL WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH

The MDB truthquest has become............ ALL ABOUT US.

The Restored Gospel has become............ALL ABOUT US.

Is the obsession with self the result of our present culture or is our present culture the result of our obsession with self?

Modern generations are Eternal Repeaters. Like the 1/3 host who always become devils in every roll of eternity, who always rebel and get chucked out. Our culture is specialized to bring forth this age of wonders because we have done this same thing an infinite number of times. This is a closed system of hypocrisy.

No wonder no Zion. Interesting beyond measure. Perhaps I might obsess on this thesis.

The truth can be frightening. I know every time I read your posts I feel the call to repentence.

Because we have absolutely no idea what your point is.

I believe it’s more like the 100th monkey effect. Once we have 100 people who can see what you do in Mount Olympus, the spontaneous understanding of Zion will flow.

It doesn't seem that unclear to me. Nightlion is talking about contemporary humanity being self obsessed and he sees that reflected in the "slogan" of MDB. In other words, humanity is more interested in itself than in God, and in its "truth" rather than God's Truth.

What I'm not clear on is if Nightlion is criticizing an individualist self-centeredness, or if all "interest" in our fellow humanity falls under his condemnation. Surely building Zion is about building a better human community, a better humanity, isn't it? Putting the common good over individual self interest isn't being "self obsessed" is it?

The problem also comes back around to what I’ve seen the likes of Droopy, William and David B. debate … i.e. what exactly is the economic situation in Zion (i.e. United Order)? Is it more socialistic or capitalistic?

On other front, my understanding of the lines of authority in the Zion society is the Holy Order. In other words, it’s purely Patriarchal (as in the goings on at the Veil in the LDS Temple). Is this order not self-centered? Is that not the ultimate goal/state (power in the priesthood be upon me and upon mine)?

In the actual doctrine there is no debate. It is neither because it is not an economic system. But it thrives only under a free market/capitalist system since private ownership and the free use of property and capital are it's fundamental principles.

hey bcspace, please don't take this here. The point of the thread seems to be is it one for all or one for one's self.

Your comment goes along with the idea that its self-centered (capitalist). Which supports my United Order self centeredness example

Want to know what a refreshing sentence is? Well, it's refreshing to see on this board. It is:

"Good point Mr./Mrs _______, I think I need to consider changing my opinion now."

It is a rare one.

Is a change in opinion considered a source of weakness?
