Of course I hate the LDS church. Is that a problem?

What is the problem with hatred? I hate liars who try to control the lives of others. I hate racism. I hate sexism. Ergo, I hate the LDS church and its doctrine. Is that supposed to be bad?

Oh boy.
What is the problem with hatred? If you have to ask, you are deeply disturbed.

You just keep setting up those strawmen and knocking them down.
The LDS Church is neither racist, sexist, nor do they "try to control the lives of others."
And if you hate a voluntary organization for these reasons, then you must also hate:
Universities
The Military
Your Parents
etc.
Get a life.

I think you're conflating hatred for concepts with hatred for things or people. Hating concepts is good, particularly things like racism and sexism. Hating a Church is a little different. Can't you at least accept that there are some good things the Church and its people do? Do those good things also inspire you to hate? Why so black and white? I don't get it.

I have noticed that you like to refer to the church as a voluntary organization because it does not have the legal authority to keep people within its ranks using physical. I think that your view of this is far too simplistic, all things considered, and I think you need to reevaluate the extent to which the LDS church is a voluntary organization. Firstly, many people can attest to the strong social pressure that the church uses to keep people from leaving it. If you grow up in an LDS family (particularly one in Utah or Colorado) and leave the church then everyone in your family will abandon you. Well, not EVERYONE. There are always exceptions. Still, the point is clear. Secondly, the church uses a number of brainwashing techniques on children as an insurance policy. If it can get to you before you can think for yourself, before you have the power to realize how stupid it is, then it can keep you as a tithing member for the rest of your life (or so the story goes). Saying that the LDS church is a voluntary organization is a little like saying that the Heaven's Gate cult was a voluntary organization. The church also uses the same kind of techniques to instill its warped value system into you. Lots of Mormon kids get the lesson that compares female to "licked cupcakes" or "crushed flowers".

I don't hate everyone in the Mormon church. As I like to say, hate the Mormonism, not the Mormon. With that said, I can recognize that the Church does some good things; that doesn't mean I don't hate it. In Germany they have a way of pointing out the absurdity of "well, they do some good" argument against religions-people will note that Hitler built the autobahn, which most Germans love.

One of the biggest problems (in my opinion) is that it provides the perfect enviornment for the growth of more hatred (It also, in many cases, has the greatest impact on the one doing the hating.)

Yea, I don't like our US Senators very much either.
I hate racism. I hate sexism. Ergo, I hate the LDS church and its doctrine. Is that supposed to be bad?
I don't know if I would say it's "bad", but I would suggest that it is not very healthy or productive.
Anyhooo, just my take.

I disagree. Hatred can be a powerful tool if it is used in a cold, calculating way. If you think that hatred is unhealthy that's fine. I realllly disagree.

Malaise,
The LDS Church is a voluntary organization. All churches are voluntary organizations. Other voluntary organizations include: school, work, and the military.
You claim that the social pressures of the LDS culture make it not a voluntary organization, but I ask you: Who is in charge of you? Who makes decisions for you? You need to start taking responsibility for your own choices and actions in life. If you join an organization and later decide that you don't like it, that's your issue. It is not the organization's fault. Millions of people are happy in their devotion to the church, and you and other anti-Mormons do not hold special insights that faithful members are too stupid or duped to grasp.
And why is hatred bad? Because it deeply hinders one's ability to understand.
