God pisses on Zion? Imminent flooding along Wasatch Front

Thomas best get started on that Ark, or start filling up sandbags!

Who pissed off God?

Massive flooding from Ogden down to past Provo is imminent unless Elohim keeps the temperatures low all summer.

The amount of water stored in the snowpack of the Wasatch mountains is actually higher then back in 1983 when there was widespread flooding and massive mudslides along the Wasatch front.

Plus all of that water will go mostly to one of two places, either the Great Salt Lake or Utah Lake.

Thousands of homes are now standing were water was very deep in 1983.

Anyone remember the 50 million dollars wasted on the SLC pumps?

With all of the pollution, traffic, and recurring flooding in Zion, is it not evident that Brigham Young was bullshitting when he claimed God lead him to Utah?

It will be interesting to watch from afar as the temperatures rise with the flood waters of Utah.

Holy Joseph!

Pineview reservoir is already full and get this, there is SIX TIMES that reservoir's capacity still stored in the snowpack!!

At Echo Reservoir near Coalville, even more water is coming. Nine times the capacity is stored in snowpack right now, according to the National Weather Service.

Perhaps God does not agree with the Great and Spacious MallĀ®?

Are there any parched, thirsty, sea gulls available to help out?

Polygamy Porter,

While I suspect you do not really expect an answer from a believer, I suggest that the scriptural answer to this is contained in Christ's words here:

Matthew 5:45 - That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

The verses before and after this scripture are also good to read.

Peace.

Why are you cackling with glee over a potential catastrophe?

The money on the pumps was not wasted. They are maintained well and started each month to assure all is working when they are needed in the future.

If all the snow and moisture came down in a week Great Salt Lake would not rise to the level of the previous flooding as the lake is way down due to the years of drought. That won't stop damage, flooding in the hillside neighborhoods and along the creeks and rivers. It will not stop mudslides and damage which is sure to happen as the moisture has saturated the ground.

Great Salt Lake could use the water to help the salinity and mineral dilution for a healthier brine shrimp population. If only they would remove the causeway that separates the North and South ends of the lake it would be a big help. With luck the water will rise so Antelope Island is once again an Island rather than a peninsula connected to the land on the South end.

Now is the time residents are talking to lawyers as much as contractors so they will sue for the cities and county allowing them to build in flood prone areas. The worst will be the fools who build ever higher on the foothills and East Bench, an old shoreline made of sand and loose rock. Their worry is the downslope movement of the sediment as well as larger rocks rolling down the steep slopes and hitting their homes. If a decent earthquake were to hit now many of them would end up sliding to the valley floor which will be full of its own problems with all the water as well as liquifaction of the loose soil.

God is not pissing on Zion. This is normal. Those who live there did not plan well and will reap the benefits of their lack of planning.

It is a desert, they should give thanks for all the moisture.

Most excellent topic, Porter!

God did not pee on us. He blew snow. It made for some of the best skiing ever!

It is unlikely we will see a river on State street like in 1983. That happened because the City Creek pipe filled with debris. The city has since built some detention ponds (fairly similar to a cesspool, Wade and Droopy) so debris are under control.

We will see some flooding though. Nothing like the Mississippi.

zesrom, don't forget the Missouri and tributaries. That is what has Montana so flooded right now.
