http://www.ksl.com/?nid=1010&sid=15609384"Some marriage therapists caution that women can become as dangerously unbalanced by these books' entrancing but distorted messages as men can be by the distorted messages of pornography," -Author Shaunti Feldhahn
Old Satan is a crafty one now isn't he?
The perfect cartoon in the SL TRib would be the hubby at the computer and wife backed up against him buried in a romance novel, with the title "modern love in Zion".
How soon before they hold romance book burnings at the local stake centers? I mean they have the anti-porn site by LDS Inc, how about addressing the women's addiction??

Interesting point made by this poster:

It does seem interesting to me that women reading "romance novels" with their explicit nature have always seemed to be more acceptable (and less talked about) than men looking at porn.
It's almost seems it's deemed to be more "tasteful" than what many would think is porn, but these books are just as explicit as most writings that you would see in xxx stories in magazines or websites.

For the last time women do not like porn! The only women who do have tattoos and nipple piercings, do Hollywood wax jobs on their bodies, exercise all the time and listen to Lady Gaga. No such women live in Utah.

Got it. However, this article seems to indicate that they do enjoy their mental porn fueled by these romance novels.
Perhaps Mormon couples could come to a compromise?
The men will agree to growing their hair out, getting hopped up on steroids, and talking like Fabio. The women will agree to real sex which includes oral and other positions besides missionary? Oh and more often than once a month..

And exercise?
Mormon women do it once a month? Only the ones who read romance novels, watch True Blood or occasionally surf through internet porn sites!

It is absolutely true that romance novels are female porn.
Women are stiumulated by fantasy while men are stimulated by visual images.
Anyone who doesn't recognize that knows very little about women.

Don't forget to throw chick flicks into the equation. I think they also can lead to unrealistic expectations.
