Wait... are you under the impression that the real purpose of the WoW has something to do with a person's health?

That's what you get for believing what the scriptures say about themselves. Some people are so naïve!

How is this a fail? Is it better to be an alcoholic or not? Is it better to get a little drunk and do something stupid or have someone take advantage of you or not? etc. etc.

Normal people seem to do just fine with a little alcohol. Joseph drank it just before his martyrdom.

Moderate drinkers live longer than teetotalers or alcoholics. Moderation is the key. Joseph Smith was a drinker....course, I guess he did some stupid stuff so maybe he should have been a teetotaler. He probably would have lived longer.

LOL. whenever a TBM claims the Word of Wisdom is not about health it's about obedience I have to laugh because a person's diet should be based on what is healthy for your body. A person with a wheat allergy should not follow the diet in the WoW, no matter how much they think they should obey.

But also, when TBMs say that the WoW is about obedience, not health, they are lying, because every TBM is taught this lesson from the Gospel Principles manual - http://LDS.org/manual/gospel-principles ... h?lang=eng

Joethecoxman drinking booze the night before shows what happens to a prophet when he breaks the word of wisdom. You don't see tubbietommy drinking wine.
