President Monson is going to rock your world! Do you feel better now?
haha yes I feel less sad. But if an apologist would say it, I would feel even better!
Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)
I've never heard anything other than the apologists saying that Joseph didn't really translate the Kinderhook plates and what is in 'History of the Church' is just ramblings of the scribe William Clayton. (Despite the fact the Clayton was with Smith that very day and despite the fact that Clayton was not in the habit of making up stuff and attributing it to the prophet).
Whenever the apologists respond with something new, please post it here.
I think I know what this is all about. The Kinderhook plates have been translated and it does have to do with Ham. Not the Ham of the O.T. but how to cook and prepare Ham. It's a cookbook and they will be sampling the various recipes at the conference.
For what it is worth... I wouldn't call Don's work on the Kinderhook plates an apologetic piece. Yes... he is presenting it at the FAIR conference, and hence, it has been judged to have apologetic value. But what he will present could just as well appear at a MHA or Sunstone conference. Although many LDS will find apologetic value in portions of my book (when it is finally published... sigh), I am pretty certain critics will find portions useful as well. I think such will be the case for Don's FAIR paper too. Personally, what I am excited about is that Don's presentation will finally move the discussion forward for all sides involved in the dialogue.

He means, "forward, up and out of the cesspool."
Droopy and Wade would agree with me.

I am affaid if I answered this quesiton, I would give clues as to what Don plans to present. I really wish I could tell ya... but I don't want to steal Don's thunder. Sorry.
The scribe's fault Speaking as a man Loose translation Well, the Bible is imperfect so it's okay
Choose your own apologetic!
Haha! Good list. :) You should add "none of the above" and then post a new thread with the poll. I think it would be fun to see what people would vote here.

Quick tip to would be presenters and apologists. If you are going to hype, please deliver. Lately it's been all foreplay and no orgasm, leading to blue balls and sad faces.
