Can we explore some solutions?

I thought it may be a good idea to have a discussion exploring possible solutions to the problem we have encountered over the weekend.

I'm (obviously..smile), not a computer geek or lawyer hence do not quite grasp all the intricacies of what is entailed to post pictures or photographs without legal ramifications, or the board being shut down.

I'm wondering if there is some protocol that could be posted where we could all know exactly what pics we can freely post and how we can post them.

Maybe there could be some sort of "time out," (smile), for those who do not comply? (I'm hoping to avoid the banning thing).

Are there ways to ensure pics are not copy written?

And, from what I can tell, no one on this board actually did anything wrong so how do we protect the board from the crazies who just want to be difficult?

I would love to avoid the removal of all pics but of course want to protect the board.

How do other boards handle this type of nonsense?

I know others have suggested a counter suit, (or something), might this be an option to alert others that they can't pull such a prank?

What do y'all think?

I think that I remain thinking (Not sure what to suggest)

I believe this is a very delicate situation.

On one hand, I do not believe this board should allow any one person the power required that leads to MDB changing, altering, or modifying their very own board. (I simply do not like where that may lead and or says)

On the other hand, due to the very recent past, I am clearly aware of what one person can do if they have the motivation, desire, and purpose to do so. (IMHO, it makes very little difference what a person's motives are, the reality that one can shut an entire community/board down was eye-popping to me, to say the least)

Anyhooooo, I really don't know what to suggest, but I will tell you that this whole thing struck me as really bizarre and to be completely honest with you, I found it a tad scarey that someone was able to do this.

Peace,
Ceeboo

Honestly TD (hi, by the way),

I don't think any of this is a big deal. Evidently, someone made a mistake of pulling the plug over a non issue.

At this point, all this dialog is akin to wondering what chickens can get so upset about on a seemingly perfect spring day.

Moving the board to another ISP not in California sounds like a good idea, at least from what has been said by those who appear to know more about the law than I do.

Really?
Because MDB is now back up? Or did you think that while MDB was down and things were uncertain?

Evidently, someone made a mistake of pulling the plug over a non issue.

I am not sure how "evident" any thing is/was (I believe it wise to wait until more information comes out concerning how/why MDB was pulled from the net, don't you?)

At this point, all this dialog is akin to wondering what chickens can get so upset about on a seemingly perfect spring day.

Again, with respect, I tend to disagree with you.
This "dialogue" seems to be not only prudent but at least worthy of strong consideration, in my opinion.

Peace,
Ceeboo

Hey again Inc,

Is the "hubbub" about the KEP cipher? (Did I win a prize?)

Ceeboo, I'm refering to what has occurred over the weekend. It was a wakeup call to nothing. The rouse was inneffective. The board is back up after the misunderstanding was corrected.

So Shades and others might make a few simple adjustments. Breath Ceeboo.
