Dear Nightlion

Post by _Turkey »

I'm really digging your music off your site, Nightlion. Deep, powerful lyric, with an almost whimsical, light-hearted vibe. I like, I like.

Listening to it reminded me of this old British group I used to fancy:

It's always pleasant to hear a song that causes me to reach out and grasp lost memories.

On a side note, Nightlion, I would also ask you a favor. You see, I've been stuck in a rather sour patch of life I can't seem to escape. My bitter feelings are draining my faith faster than Laban could drain his cup, and the lines of communication seem blocked. I could use an intermediary, if you don't mind Nightlion; a neutral 3rd party to help find out from God what exactly the deal is.

Thanks in advance,

Well, Turkey, I thank you for your like and the other like also. In regards to your favor, as you can well imagine my Apocalrock Visitor Center is sinking my savings account faster than a millstone cast into the sea, and a considerable monetary contribution could fix my attention to your problem with keen devotion. I will not be so immodest as to post my mailing address here. If you are serious you can find it at either website below. All donations to The Apocalrock Visitor Center are tax deductible.

Now everyone can just calm down. I am not in it for the money. I have generously provided great treasures of eternal truths and wisdom freely but at great personal cost going on forty years. Nobody knows my costs.

The Apocalrock Visitor Center is the only venture prophesied to be a huge success by no less than the Prophet Isaiah. So I could use some help getting the word out.

Isaiah 5:26-27
26 ¶ And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth: and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly:
27 None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:

In the mean time, for a stopgap measure, you should fill up your thoughts more with the word of God than with the distractions of Mammon. Not knowing what caused your bitterness I can only suggest a generic solution of letting go of specific expectations that you recognize. This is the beginning of meekness. God loves the meek the most. They tend to not take God for granted. He likes that.

Turkey, should I realize your actual identity by the obvious evidence you have provided? You know I have already helped you for free don't you.

Thanks Nightlion

Of course I realize you're not in it for the money. When I pay my 10% to the Mormon church, I may not be so sure where my money is going or how it is being used. But when I send donations to the Apocalrock, I can safely assume the money isn't going toward a fancy new coat for Mrs. Nightlion ;) If anyone around here is truly honest, it's got to be you sir.

Anyway, I'll keep this in mind and help when I can. And thanks again for the advice

NL,

It's perfectly acceptable to ask for funding to support your religion. This is how religion has been since the beginning of time. We are not selling prophesies but rather building the kingdom.
Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)

I like the sound of that We Zeez. I do need to shake my lightness of heart. That is rather irresponsible and unappealing. Stak seemed a bit disappointed that I failed to keep up a good "confidence". There are steps I have taken to deal with this. I cannot explain.
