The Hill Cumorah and the Quest for the Missing Stone Box
John Tvedtnes and I spoke on the phone a long time ago. I don't know why. I can't remember why. Back when I was LDS. He told me that the Church had people, secretly, go all over Cumorah with ground penetrating radar, and the conclusion was....no stone box was there, and in fact no stone box was EVER in Cumorah, because it would have left a "signature" in the ground. Any hole over the size of a fist would have left a signature. Of course, over 2000 years, would have erosion washed away the stone box? If it was sand-stone, this is actually possible, if the box was exposed to the weather. Could it dissolve since 1827 even if exposed? No. No way. A little, but that's all, even if sand-stone.There would be a "signature" in the hill and there is none. Needless to say, the Church did not publish these findings.
