It does not matter one iota if Joseph Smith was a false prophet or not or if The Book of Mormon is historical of not. We are all judged solely by our actions toward other sentient beings (i.e. all living beings who can feel pleasure or pain). We are "judged" by absolutley nothing else. If being a Member of the Church help us to be better people, to do more good, then it is a good thing. If we are hypocrites, then the Church does us no good.
