Your collective voices have been heard. I have re-enabled the image posting feature for everyone.
HOWEVER, there are certain conditions to post images, though:
- ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FROM Facebook, whether they have their profiles set to "public" or not, unless it's YOU.
- If the image is copyrighted, either A) don't post it at all, or B) type the reason why you consider your use of the image to fall under the "Fair Use" provision of copyright law.
- ABSOLUTELY NO REAL-LIFE PHOTOS of anyone who posts to either this board or MD&D, unless it's YOU, PARODY OR OTHERWISE.
In my heart of hearts, I truly believe that this arrangement will best serve our needs while simultaneously A) reducing the potential for another DMCA takedown notice, and B) better fostering a message board culture that the community (in general) wishes will take hold.
If someone violates these guidelines, I have enabled a feature wherein I can disable his or her image posting privileges while leaving them enabled for everyone else.
AS BEFORE, this announcement does NOT constitute an invitation to immediately "push the envelope" by posting borderline violatory (is that a word?) images in order to test the moderators' limits. Thank you.
