Why do you post at MDB?

Hey all,

On another thread, someone explained why they posted here at MDB.

I thought it might be interesting (maybe it won't be and this thread will be on page 3 in next 24 hours) to see what other MDB members would say as the reason/reasons they post here.

What say you?

Open discourse. Even when I was a TBM at MAD, I was constantly dealing with closed threads. It has a chilling effect on speech.

Hi, Ceeboo!

A good question. I'm expecting to see some good answers to your thread.

Personally, I participate here because I grew up as a non-Mormon in a Mormon world. It helps me to understand the things that bothered me so much when growing up.

I think my time here has helped me to become less critical of Mormons and more sympathetic. I am still very critical of the theology, though.

I'm here to learn about about others (like people who have a different perspective than I), mostly--just trying to stretch my mind and understanding.

Good place to discuss all things Mormon especially if you want to vent.

And, since I have posted here for quite some time, I have made a lot of friends here. The people here are the real draw for me.

I am here to defend the LDS church. I like the people here but I can not stand all the negativity against the LDS church.

Venting has been the problem of the board. People vent in the wrong way by personally attacking individuals who are LDS. Hopefully that will change.

Venting is one thing, personal attacks are seperate. Lets keep them seperate, but I get what you are saying.
