Didn't want to muck up the thread about Richs site, so I started a new one.
Simon doesn't like Rich giving information about Mormons.
A defender of a "Church" which has from its point of inception been spreading lies about American Indians. Joseph Smith stated that Indians were of Hebrew descent but turned into Indians because of their evil vile ways. THey were made into Indians so they would be loathsome to white and delightsome types of people. Joe Smith said it but claimed he was interpreting what Nephi said. Nephi supposedly was a hebrewish prophet who presumably spoke Hebrew but wrote his language in Egyptian. Which God sent an angel to lead Joseph to find golden tablets so Joseph could translate what GOd really thinks and teaches so the Mormons could share this "Word of God" with the world.
Trouble is it is a bunch of lies. Indians were Indians before Moses, Noah, Abraham, befor Babylon and all that middle east stuff.
The Mormon church has taught thousands of Indians that their ancestors were so spiritually corrupt that they were transformed into Indians so everyone could immediately see what God thought of their ways. The Mormon church sends missionaries all over the world trying to convince people that the Book of Mormon is the history of the Americas and its ancient inhabitants.
Rich can do what he wants with his site, I bet Mormons would not even be a concern of his if they taught the truth of things.

This is what I think is rather funny: even if what you are saying is 100% accurate, and I will keep silent on my opinion, to just go ahead and blurt it out in such a condensed format, really adds shock value to your point.

If I could offer a little advice, and ask a question or two: there is trusted LDS material which one looking into this subject could find.

I would use good LDS material from the Maxwell Institute, Fair, BYU, etc., over any anti-Mormon source material. Off the top of my head I believe I remember the D&C mentioning people being sent off to preach to the Lamanites. I think the Book of Moses and/or the JST was interrupted, or a scribe was changed due to this. Also, there is Church History, apart from the Book of Mormon texts on the subject.

Not for my sake, because personally I have covered this about as much as I feel I need to, yet, I am wondering what you are working with or on?

And, I believe I understand why the Indian connection to early LDS teaching can impact someone in today’s world. I have ministered next to Indian people as a musician and I couldn’t help but think of the LDS theology. I know that sound’s racist. I’m sorry. I need to get this out of my head.

Count me on board with you and Rich, AlwaysWondered. Nice, succinct description of "the Indian problem" in Mormonism. And more could be said. The sort of unofficial board of reviewers of Rich's writings, found them fair and aboveboard. Rich is willing to take on board new issues, but some people rant so much about his past writing, they they seem to want to board his site, also, but not for constructive purposes. Various threads about Rich's articles constitute a virtual, noncontiguous board of their own, of sorts. :D
