This will likely be my only post here today. There is something going on in my life, as of a few hours ago, that puts all of this silliness in its proper perspective, and I'm going to be very busy. But, mercifully, I have a few moments now, and I feel morally obliged to say something about this comment, which I overlooked earlier:

That's way over the top, and I can't let it stand unchallenged.

I was traveling during the recent explosion of Schryver threads, and have read little of them. Still, I know what they were about.

I have no desire to start a thousand-and-first Schryver boil, and, if one starts, I won't participate in it, but I have to say that I have known Will for several years now -- not really well, but well enough -- and he is absolutely not the totally depraved monster that the remark above implies. Even if one were to grant all the charges made against him, that wouldn't come close to justifying such an extreme verdict as to deny him any "place in decent Christian society."

Come on. The demonization ought to have some limits.

If I recall correctly, Perhaps this is sour grapes on the part of Bob over you rejecting his mo'pologetic work?

Re-posting my reply from the other thread:

I read Yahoo Bot's post to mean that he saw William as neither "Christian" nor "decent," or that he has no place among the people of God. And if I did read him right, that's really his soteriological/theological call to make.

I didn't see it as a call for the termination of his civil rights or anything like that because I don't view the U. S. at large as a theocracy or a "Christian society," even if some Christians choose to describe it that way.
