Thoughts on DVD Praise to the Man
http://www.praisetotheman.com/
Have you seen it? It's on KBYU right now. What do you think of this rendition?
The depiction shown in this movie is the view I had of Joseph Smith up until 2010.
Why can't this be reality? Sometimes I wish it could be. Same thing when I watch the A&E Pride & Prejudice. I wish life was like that.

This movie is a little dark and troubling for my little kids.

Hey Zee (Hope this finds you well)
The link you provide doesn't work? (I was interested in seeing it. I wonder if it's just my computer)
Peace,

Ceeboo,
Here is a link on Deseret Book:

my wife asked that I change the channel to Extreme Makeover home edition because the movie is way too depressing.

Re: Thoughts on DVD Praise to the Man
It is a movie. The one who is in the 'first vision' did not say who he was nor did he say who 'his son' was.
If anyone at all it was "The God of This Earth" as taught in l-dsince temples.
As for the rest of it, why don't they show joe kicking hell out of a minister, groomnig 10-12 year old girls so they will be ready in the future to be his 'wives', taking in foster daughters so he can get their inheritance and then 'marry' them?
The guy was a sexual predator and a con man.

Hey again, Zee
Is this 41 second thing all there is?
If so, I have very few thoughts on it.
Peace,
Ceeboo

I hate this song. I think I've said that at least once before.

Most members don't know about those holes, PP. And the BIC ones don't care.

Re: Thoughts on DVD Praise to the Man
Ceeboo,
No, it is a pretty long movie. Joseph Smith is portayed as the spiritual victim to the extreme. All he is trying to do is tell people about Jesus and personal revelation. As you see from all the Mormons in this movie, the big question is, why in the hell is everyone picking on us?
The implication is that Satan doesn't want Mormons to spread the gospel of Jesus.
Interestingly, this movie represents my previous view of Mr Smith and church history.
If you could watch the whole thing, Ceeboo, you may not even recognize it as being a historic portrayal of the early church. This is chapel Mormon material. Welcome to my world.
If you watch this, you will see why my parents were so shocked when I told them Mr. Smith's behavior is repulsive to me.
