Any defenders that would like to contribute, please be my guest!
How many key points of this so called restoration were started with Joseph asking a question?
God sure liked to dick with Joseph... "Nah, I will wait for him to ask questions before I tell him to restore that."

"Can I have Joseph Smith and Lewis Bidamon?"
Truman emphasizes a similar question posed by Hyrum. How sweet that Hyrum gets them both. What about Emma?

Z has the same thought I had. What about a woman who remarries after her first husband dies? I wonder if Madsen ever thought through that one. If he did perhaps he concludes as did one high priest in my quorum when talking about heavenly mother. He said we don't talk about heavenly mother because there are many heavenly mothers. So this works a ok for men you see. Women just get one and are part of the heavenly breeding group you see.
I also believe he was inaccurate about Eliza Snow being sealed to Joseph Smith with Emma's approval. I think this was done without Emma's knowledge.
I could not really watch much past the angel and the sword story. I liked Truman Madsen. But I always wonder how someone so bright can give such an eloquent address defending polygamy by Joseph Smith but would readily condemn it by others who said God commanded it. Really it boils down to accepting Joseph Smith was really commanded by God to do it.

The context of the story is a little muddled, but I've watched it several times before and Madsen doesn't seem to be claiming that Joseph came to understand polygamy at that time. It's
Hyrum that is coming to understand it.
But I've always wondered what Truman thinks Joseph would have said if Hyrum had responded "So if I had died and Jerusha had remarried, what would become of her in the life to come?"

Of course Dr. Peterson but is it really that simplistic. Simply God commanded it? Don't you ask why out of all the others who claimed God told them to do some sort of extra marital thing Joseph was the only one to really get the go ahead.

Well then it all boils down to whether you've had a special feeling that tells YOU that it was ok for Joseph Smith but not anyone else.
