The Curse of Cain Doctrine at a glance

The Curse of Cain Doctrine:
1) Some spirits were "less valiant' in the War in Heaven. They followed Jesus, but were "less valiant" than other spirits.
2) The valiant spirits became white people, and apparenly red and yellow and brown people. The "less valiant spirits" became black people of the "Negro" race.
3) Cain was not less valiant, because he was white like Adam and Eve (and God). But he was jealous of Abel, and killed Abel. God "placed a mark" upon Cain: black skin, flat nose, kinky hair, negroid features.
4) Cain married his sister (had to...no other humans), and God changed her into the second Negro, and they were the parents of the Negro race (the children of Cain).
5) The Sethite (white anglo-saxon looking caucasians) males rejected the blonde Sethite women because they saw the Cainite women were "fair" (beautifuL), so they inter-married, which made the LORD angry because He commanded these lines to remain separate (that's right...the white men rejected the white women because they tought the Cainite/Negro women more beautiful than the white women).
6) Noah was a pure Sethite (white man) and so was his wife and sons, so the LORD decided to kill all the half-breeds and Cainites (Negroes) but spare only Noah and his wife and sons because they were "perfect" (pure) in their generation (genealogy).
7) But Ham married a Cainite woman named Egptus (a Negro woman) who was already pregnant wiith the child of another Cainite man (which is why Negroes continued through the Flood).
8) Ham marrying the last surviving Negro woman angered Noah, so when Ham insulted Noah by pointing out to his brothers that Noah was drunk and naked, Noah cursed Canaan to be a "servant of servants" forever to his brothers.
9) The Ark landed, and Canaan (a full Negro) married his sister (or mother...since she was the only other Negro left) and they went off to Africa, but not before two of their children (the parents of the Aboriginals of Australia) built a raft and took all the marsupials on the planet except for the Opassum, and thousands of unique plant species, loaded them up on the huge raft and sailed off to Australia.
10) Canaan and "Egyptus" (daughter of Egyptus) settle in Egypt which is "under water" but they seem to have both full Negro and half-Negro children, and the full-Negro children eventually become the black Africans and the half-Negro children become the Egyptians.
11) Because Cain killed Abel, the "seed of Abel" have a right to the Priesthood before the seed of Cain, so Abel has to be resurrected, and all his descendants must first have the opportunity to hold the priesthood, then, after the last of Abel's male descendants are gone, then the Curse of Cain will be removed from the posterity of Cain (Negroes) and the Mark of Cain will be removed, so one day after the Millennium Negro women will give birth to white anglo-saxon looking Caucasian children (with no apparent Negro blood) which will be the "sign" that the Curse of Cain is over.
12) If the Church gives the Negro the Priesthood before this time, then the Priesthood is taken from the Earth.
13) The Church sends missionaries to India, but it fails because "there is too much of the blood of Cain in them." (i.e. 97% of East Indians are black or brown skinned).
14) In 1955, President McKay extends the priesthood to black-skinned Fijians, Melanesians, Aboriginies, and East Indians (Dravidians), concluding they are not the descendants of Cain (if not from Cain...where did they come from? This is never answered). Note: all Polynesians are part-Melanesian! Yet, the priesthood was always given to them because they were considered to be remnants of the Lamanites from Hagoth (i.e. God cursed them with a dark skin like other Lamanites but they are not denied the priesthood because they are not of the lineage of Cain).
15) The "banning" of all Negroes, and anyone with "one drop of Negro blood" in their veins from the priesthood and temples is called the "Priesthood Ban". The Curse of Cain Doctrine is taught many times in General Conference, in letters from the First Presidency, and by apostles in General and Stake Conference, letters, books by the Church and published not by the Church, and in official Church periodicals. AT NO TIME is it ever called "speculation" or "in our opinion" or "folklore". It is called "a teaching of the Church" and "a Revelation from the Lord" and "a doctrine of the Church". In one letter, President McKay calls the Less Valiant theory "a reasonable supposition" (speculation).
16) In 1976 the Church is building a Temple in Brazil, and many Brazilian Mormons are doing their genealogy, only to discover they have at least one Negro ancestor. This creates problems! The Church discovers that 70% of all "white" Brazilians have at least one "Negro" ancestor. The Church tells those who discover this to "cease" using their priesthood, but in actuality very few are released from priesthood positions. Only those who "look" part Negro are released, the rest continue to act in priesthood positions. The Brethren discuss "what to do" about "the Brazil Situation" and basically they decide to "put it off" (make no decision one way or the other) indefinitely. White Brazilians with Negro blood continue to serve in priesthood positions and serve and worship in the new Sao Paulo Temple.
17) Sometime in early 1978, the Administration of President Jimmy Carter "threaten" to revoke the tax-exempt status of Christian universities and all churches who "discriminate" against blacks. If the Church loses tax-exempt status, then tithing and other donations, including Church owned businesses, would be taxes, and the Church would lose billions of dollars each year (in taxes to the government which it does not now pay).
18) On June 8th, 1978, President Spencer W. Kimball announced he has had a "Revelation" from the LORD extending the priesthood to "all worthy males regardless of color". He does not mention the Curse of Cain Doctrine (does not apologize for it).
19) From 1978 to 1996, when journalists ask about the Curse of Cain Doctrine, they are simply told: "OC 2 speaks for itself. Please read it." When Members ask, they are told: "Ask your bishop". Some bishops say it was doctrine, others say it was never doctrine, but most tell their Members..."Don't worry about it!"
20) Elder Ballard is appointed Executive Director of LDS Church Public Affairs in 1996. Since that time, LDS Church Public Affairs has been telling journalists and non-members who inquire about the Curse of Cain Doctrine:
*"It was never a doctrine of the Church, just some speculation or folklore by a few Members of the Church....the Church has NEVER taught that black people were EVER cursed in any way. The Church has NEVER taught that black people are or were the children of Cain. Some Members may have believed this at one time, but it was never a doctrine of the Church."
**If Members inquire about the Curse of Cain Doctrine, they are still told: "Ask your bishop" with the very same replies from bishops: "Yes" "No" "Maybe" "Don't know" "Who cares?" "Do you masturbate?" "Are you living the Gospel?" "Why are you questioning the Brethren?" and the most popular reply from bishops which is: "Look, don't worry about it! Just pay your tithing, attend your meetings, follow the Brethren, and you'll be blessed!"
Q. Did Joseph Smith teach that Negroes were the children of cain?
A. In no sermon he said that, but he was once wrote that in his journal; calling Negroes "the sons of Cain".
Q. Did he ban blacks from the Temple or priesthood?
A. No! In fact he authorized the ordination of several black men to the priesthood, and the appointment of Elijah Abel to the Third Quorum of Seventy. He also invited "free people of color" to Zion, and also invited them to the Nauvoo Temple once it was completeed.
Q. Who invented the Curse of Cain Doctrine?
A. The Pratt brothers, after Joseph Smith died, formulated it based upon "reason" and "Revelation".
Q. Who implemented the priesthood-ban?
A. Brigham Young did in 1848, not long after a half-Negro man--a Mormon Elder--named William Cary sexually seduced a number of white Mormon women, including possibly the secret wives or potential secret wife of Brigham Young.
Q. Did Brigham Young advocate "death on the spot" for inter-racial couples and their children?
A. Yes, he did, saying so in General Conference.
Q. Was this ever carried out?
A. Possibly. One black man was hung in Salt Lake City for "messing with white women" but nobody knows who ordered this.
This is how it stands today. The Church via LDS Public Affairs) now denies it ever taught the Curse of Cain Doctrine. It denies Church leaders ever taught it, but "some" faceless and nameless "Members" may have believed it at one time. In fact, these "some Members" were the very top leaders of the Church from 1848 until 1978.
If you don't believe this, I encourage you to contact LDS Public Affairs and ask them: "Did the LDS Church EVER teach that black people were the cursed children of Cain, less valiant in the war in heaven, and that the Mark of Cain was a black nose, flat nose, and kinky hair?"
They will ask: "Are you a Member?" If you say Yes, they will say, "Then ask your bishop!" (apparently bishops are very well informed on Church doctrine and history).
If you ask LDS Church Public Affairs: "Why did the Church ban all blacks from the priesthood and temples from 1848 until 1978?" they will say: "We don't know the reason why!" or they will say: "Are you a Member/Ask your bishop".
In "The First Presidency Statement on the Negro Question" (1947) they wrote "the reason why the Negro is denied the priesthood in mortality is known". That was an official statement. Apparently, the Chruch now does not "know" the reason why. The Church seems to be losing knowledge.
