It would only take a matter of time before the attacks began. The critics here can not tolerate anyone defending the lds church. Eventually the attack posey would come out of the closet.

Sadly, I can think of absolutely no reason to expect that to be true.

Can't say I enjoyed Mike's columns. I'd read, get through maybe a couple of paragraphs, then quit (same with his FAIR blog podcasts - boring). It just sounded like the usual mantra I heard in Church about "historicity", which I still think is a weak furphy. While DCP also holds to the same illogic about "historicity", I sense a "broader spirituality" (for want of a better phrase) in his columns. That appeals to me much more, and in my mind his mastery of Islam counts a lot.

In any case, I won't miss Mike's columns, but I do wish him the very best in life, and hope that he finds more time to catch up on some sleep! lol.

I wondered if they paid for that..

Just curious, is Brother Peterson paid for his articles?

Damn, I could hear the lip smack on that ass kiss clear over here in California.

To be frank, at least in my opinion, and perhaps the opinion of other objective readers, most of your work, was way out there on the edge of reality.

Some might. Mike's columns served as the basis for some meaningful discussions with my parentals. I'll miss them.

Mike, I'm sorry to see your column go. I always enjoyed it, and your column was one of the few (and sometimes the only) that I was sure to read every week.

Really? I never got the sense you were one of the most detested or annoying mopologists. I think you're confusing what people thought of your ideas with what people think of you personally. I can think of several mopologists more detestable/annoying than you.

Anyway, I'm happy you have more time for other things now, including your family. Might as well focus on the sweet rather than the bitter.

Thanks for all the kind words. I lurk on message boards here & there but rarely have time to post. I typically work about 56 hrs a week & with church callings, family, editing the FAIR Conference videos, etc., there's not a lot of time to post. By I like to at least peek in here & there to get a pulse of what is new & old.

Despite the fact that my views differ from many of those on this board I do count several LDS-critics among my e-friends.

And yes, I'm still having some insomnia troubles. (But that doesn't necessarily make me brain-dead or asleep-at-the-wheel <g>.)

I think Mike has had a positive effect on the board already.
