D&C 132:

26Verily, verily, I say unto you, if a man marry a wife according to my word, and they are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, according to mine appointment, and he or she shall commit any sin or transgression of the new and everlasting covenant whatever, and all manner of blasphemies, and if they commit no murder wherein they shed innocent blood, yet they shall come forth in the first resurrection, and enter into their exaltation; but they shall be destroyed in the flesh, and shall be delivered unto the buffetings of Satan unto the day of redemption, saith the Lord God.

See you there!

Does this mean you received your second anointing?

Congratulations!

(Though I think you're supposed to keep it a secret . . . )

Regardless, you are welcome to visit me in my celestial courts on high any time you feel like dropping by, Buff.

All the Best!

Thanks for the invite - I'll bring some Tarantino flicks for movie night.

It just says "sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise." I'm told that this is just the plain old Holy Ghost.

Wow, God really says things in a convoluted way. It's like Charles Dickens mixed with Yoda. I had to read that verse 3 times to fully get the point.

"Wait, is he saying I can blaspheme? Oh, I guess so... No! er.. wait... yes!"

Wait, isn't the "shedding of innocent blood" refering to denying the Holy Ghost from another verse?

Sooo confusing!

132:27 The blasphemy against the Holy Ghost, which shall not be forgiven in the world nor out of the world, is in that ye commit murder wherein ye shed innocent blood, and assent unto my death, after ye have received my new and everlasting covenant, saith the Lord God; and he that abideth not this law can in nowise enter into my glory, but shall be damned, saith the Lord.

Joseph and Co. were having fun. These guys were a bunch of loose canons running around having a ball. I'm glad they enjoyed themselves but I'm little discouraged knowing how much pain everyone (including themselves) experienced due to their sport.

Section 132 is so stupid. Srsly. Lame. It makes no logical sense and is incoherent in parts. You can almost hear the mental justifications (or mental illness) happening while it is being penned.

You can commit "all manner of blasphemy" as long as you don't shed innocent blood....but wait! Shedding innocent blood means blasphemy against the holy ghost!

What the crap?

Cool! I'll sneak you through the Elijah Able entrance in the back.

With all due respect to the Institute manual, the verse is confusing because it is referring to the ordinance of the second anointing. In fact, I think it just may contain some of the language from that ordinance.

The second anointing (or second endowment) was the crowning ordinance of the temple, and whereas initiates to the endowment are washed and anointed preparatory to becoming kings and priests, the second anointing actually proclaimed and ordained them to that position. (And the woman were ordained queens and priestesses.)

From what little I know, it is a two-part ceremony; the first part including a woman and her husband receiving certain ordinations from the president of the high priesthood (or his designee); and the second part being exclusively between the wife and husband themselves, where they go into a separate room, and engage in an ordinance prescribed for them, at least part of which includes the wife symbolically preparing the husband for burial.

Although this ordinance was widely practiced in Joseph Smith's day, it has dropped off precipitously to the point it is likely at least some of the apostles have not received it.

Apostle Howard Hunter is reported to have never heard of it.

It is due to what is the effective loss of this ordinance that the verse in section 132 is so obtuse. Even the Institute manual writers seem to have difficulty.

All the Best!
