I am writing to help you fix your current problem. Yes, I know that you banned me, but I forgive you. :-D I want you to know that I enjoyed my ban time and to reassure you that no part of me was "down" since I did what I did intentionally. That is to say, it was a calculated move on my part.

Yes, it's okay if you quote me for now. I do know a board that has functioned for literal years using that same disclaimer on the front page. I highly suggest that Shades look into modifying the front page as needed to install the disclaimer.

You guys are so damned stupid. Fair Use is narrowly defined under the newer copyright systems(including outside the USA) aside from the moral and ethical questions raised by appropriation of the intellectual property of others.

Why so intent on trying to excuse theft?

Joseph is not only COMPLETELY wrong in regards to copyright law, he is also insane.

Insights on Joseph

Joseph needs to do this because it is his only method with which to meet his passive aggressive-attention seeking needs.

Think about it. Just look at any number of threads that Joseph creates that totally tank. His threads (what one might call his "ideas") are of no interest to this community.

Harping on the issue of copyright/images is the one thing he's been successful at in gleaning responses of any kind. He's got the board by the you-know-what's and he loves it. Take a look at how many threads he's created about this one issue and how many threads the issue has spawned.

People only repeat behavior from which they profit.

In this case, the profit to Joseph is the attention he gets.

Another indication of his passive aggressive tactics can be seen in the posts he writes wherein he refers to posters not by their screen names, but as "semen" or "lez" and talks down (from behind the keyboard) to adults by addressing them as "boy", "girl" or "kid".

Passive aggressive is also why he avoids responding to Liz's repeated challenge to answer her questions or why he avoided answering Ray Agostini's request to publish some of the PM's he sent to people.

So yeah, clear as day, the guy has psyche issues and will continue to play jerk around games with Shades and the community at large so long as he profits from doing such things.

It's akin to getting one's narcissisitic supply.

Joseph, you are the one who is missing the point.

No one here is excusing theft.

But you have made it pretty clear that if we allow images again here, you are going to scrutinize every image posted with a fine tooth comb. The images that have been posted here in the past were not BLATANTLY posted against copyright law, Joseph. That is the point you are missing. Most were simply posted out of ignorance. Now that we recognize a problem, we can be more diligent in making sure that artist's get the credit they deserve.

However, you know as well as I do, that there is such a thing as human error, even when the intention is not malicious. And, if you are going out of your way, looking for things to report, who is to say that if you get your panties in a twist, you won't scan the board for pictures posted 3-4 years ago, just for revenge?

That is what we are talking about here.

I, and the other Moderators, have NO PROBLEM doing our best to uphold Copyright Law. That is NOT what this is about, Joseph. This is about YOUR attitude, and YOUR willingness to keep to an agreement that YOU voluntarily entered into with Shades.

He's not stupid, he is a socially dysfunctional passive aggressive. This is why he will not reply to your questions. It's not a matter of making an agreement, you see, because Joseph has established an internal social contract that reads: "I will jerk you around as long as I want to."
