Priesthood holders know deep down

that priesthood blessings don't work. Next time you observe or participate in one, notice the language. Almost never there be any "and I say unto you, be healed!" No, it's soft language like, "you will soon recover from your infirmity."
Priesthood holders know what the outcome is going to be - most illnesses will get better through medical treatment or through the body's own internal mechanisms. So if you couch the terms of the blessing so that they can hide behind those ordinary mechanisms, you don't risk disappointed people who blamed themselves or Jesus or the priesthood holder for the promised instant healing that never came.

Clearly you're someone who doesn't use and participate in the Priesthood much, because there are always story's about Priesthood "be healed" story's, as well as miracle healing, etc.
True, most blessings are of comfort, not to command healing.
What part of following the "Will of God" do you not understand?
Priesthood holders aren't supposed to just do whatever they want, they do what God tells them to do. Sometimes God tells them to "command" sickness to depart, and sorry, most of the time it's simply to share the spirit and love with one another.
You don't know a darn thing you are talking about, being enslaved by your own wicked mind and judgments of others.

Buffalo has made the shocking discovery that Priesthood Blessings are not sorcery that commands God to obey?!?!?!
Finally....
Good job buddy. Keep trucking along and one day you might have an elementary grasp of the LDS faith.
Good luck!

Their are stories in every religion. So what?
What part of following the "Will of God" do you not understand?
Then there is no point to use the priesthood. If it's Gods will then they will be healed or not, unless God wants them healed but can't becuase they didn't get that priesthood blessing.

by the way you need a little more practice before you can come across as a real believer and not a sock puppet of someone to show they can play the other side. :)

I'm glad we both understand that at best they provide a comforting placebo effect.

Why do you need this male dominant
ticket in order to "simply share the spirit and love with one another" as you put it?
How do you feel about using the word "darn"? Do you feel like you've expressed yourself adequately? Did you know that darn is a euphemism for damn and that damn is a swear word. So, in essence, you are swearing! The amazing, implicit swear jargon! If you are going to use expletives on this forum, why not just be explicit about it? It really is what you mean. Say what you mean! Don't be afraid.

Distraught Mother, on her knees in fervent prayer: "Dear almighty God! I know of thy goodness and I know that with my faith, you have the power to heal my sick son! I know in the scriptures it says that you, in all your goodness, will answer all prayers! Please, O Lord, answer mine and heal my son!"
God: "Dear woman, your faith is amazing, and I hear your prayer! I would love to heal your son, but your prayer just isn't quite enough. I'm terribly sorry."
/Priesthood blessing ensues
God: "Now, THAT'S what I was waiting for. I'm so glad that you, dear Mother, sought out the power of my priesthood on Earth! These 2 strangers laid their hands on your sick child, so now I can heal him. Whew!"

Deliberate misunderstanding isn't clever. It just makes you look like an idiot. Not an ordinary everyday idiot either; you're someone who chooses to be an idiot.

Mormonism seems to have, for the most part, shucked off the real powerful magic such as casting out demons and devils. Most blessings, that I have seen and taken part in, are given for comfort and council. Sometimes the blessing that someone will be healed sneak into the blessing, but even that seems to be disappearing. Why don't Mormons lay on hands to cast out devils much anymore? Is it because we realize those types of manifestations are probably related to physical or mental states like anxiety or epilepsy? Is it just the march of secular knowledge and trust in modern medicine? Or have devils ceased to possess mankind?

Jesus didn't use soft language in his healing rituals. Healing was instant in those stories. If faith healing really worked, it would be like that, and not just comforting language given while waiting for the body to heal itself or waiting for the drugs to kick in.
Faith healing works on the same principle as claiming magical powers of flight while riding in an airplane.
