As a great spiritual guru; seer, revelator, and prophet of God's true living church, why doesn't the prophet seem to really fit his role?
-Why doesn't the prophet perform healing through the power of God's holy priesthood for those who need it? Is he not a healer?
-Why doesn't the prophet enlighten us with his wisdom, rather than stating the same old stuff we've come to expect to hear? Is he not a teacher?
-What about Seer? Prophet? Revelator? What divination, prophecy, or revelation provides any legitimate reason to believe he possesses the abilities such titles imply?
So if he doesn't seem to be a healer, teacher, prophet, revelator, or seer, then what does he seem to be? He seems to be the president and chief executive of a large and profitable organization.
So what is it then which makes him "the" prophet?
As a life-long member of the church, I feel my questions are fair.
What makes a prophet?

You might find Stak's previous thread What Manner of Man is a Prophet, of interest. I wish it had gotten more discussion, so consider this a virtual bump of the original thread...

Re: What makes a prophet?
I asked a seminary teacher about patriarchs one time.
He said they are patriarchs because they are called by god and ordained by they laying on of hands.
As matter of nature and the way the world is i assumed the brotheren looked for clairvoyant people to call to that office, i was wrong though. If karma takes control of the blessing that is a different thing i guess.
I would only go to a legitimate proven psychic healer. Being on tv while claiming to be psychic so someone can make money doesn't do it for me.
Personally i'm too cocky/on the spot to be a healer.

Re: What makes a prophet?
GBH once said he is a prophet because the members sustain him as one. It really is that simple. if you can get people to believe you are a prophet than you are a prophet to them. All the self proclaimed prophets in the world understand this extremely simple concept.
"We have taken up arms in defense of our liberty, our property, our wives, and our children; we are determined to preserve them, or die."

Remember, the word "I" is capitalized. Please don't spell it "i" anymore.
In addition, the first letter of every new sentence must be capitalized. Please do that from now on, too.
Thank you.

I regularly go to another board where grammar police are uniformly despised. Quite a relief from your tyranny. Jenn Kamp.Dr. Shades wrote:Remember, the word "I" is capitalized.
