It's only a matter of time

Before science turns its dispassionate eye toward the LDS revelatory experience - "I felt burning in the bosom/warm fuzzies/chills up and down my spine so that means the Church is true" experience. When it's ultimately shown to be completely mundane, what will be the apologetic reaction?

Yes indeed. Also, I think this would be a good starting point for research into the LDS "Spirit" experience:

We already have the answer to this. The response from the faithful is that while it's true that science may be able to describe various feelings/emotions/euphoric states and so forth, the "real" Spirit feels different, and that you just know it when you experience it.
If you follow up by pointing out how many others are convinced that they feel the "real" Spirit but are in fact mistaken, then the response is usually to state that they (the person I'm talking to) can't account for what others experience, only what they themselves experience, and they
know that they're correctly judging the nature of their own experiences. The fact that so many others believe that they too correctly judge their experiences and are yet wrong about it doesn't seem to faze them even a little. I'm convinced that this is related to
illusory superiority, and it would make sense too, because Mormons believe they have something others don't have, ie: the gift of the Holy Ghost.

This is why many religious people get upset at science, because they keep entering fields these people think are exclusively theirs and showing them as incorrect. The new area now of course is the spiritual. Some interesting things have already been discovered, and much is still to be discovered. This will in my opinion change the way many religious people view the spiritual.

I eagerly await the data.

I see you practice science the right way. Assume you are right and will one day be proven right. The evidence isn't in yet but you're sure it will vindicate your position.
I call this the Revised Scientific Method.

It's a safe assumption. Any time the supernatural is subjected to scientific scrutiny, the supernatural inevitably comes out of it with a black eye. No exceptions so far.

Faith, and wanting to believe something, is impervious to evidence, facts and critical thinking. As long as people want to defend their beliefs more than they want to know the truth, this will be the case.

Wherever science has investigated the supernatural, the supernatural loses. Every time. This has happened over, and over, and over again. I know you apologists love to bank on immeasurably small probabilities, but it's not a winning strategy.
