Huntsman & Romney: Pro-evolution, science, climate change

Post by _moksha »

I know the Church has taken a no politics stand, but they constantly delve into politics at the Church website LDS Living. Lately it has been plugging Romney over Huntsman, but this time they have Romney riding Huntsman's coat tails in being pro-science by supporting the theory of evolution and acknowledging the reality of climate change. They even cited the source article in the Daily Beast if you wish to read more about it.

This has even garnered Huntsman the title of "The GOP's Truth-teller". Good for Huntsman and Romney.

I have no problem with what science says about global warming since most of them reject the AGW heresy. I think Hunstman was a political dead end before he started. Romney teeters on the verge of busting out or being eliminated from contention.

But as we know, LDS doctrine is science friendly so it should be no suprise these candidates accept science.

I always thought they took a rather neutral stance, except when it came to circumnavigating a round Earth. Either way, good for Romney and Huntsman. My assumption is that the rest of the GOP contenders are "agin them pointy headed scientist theories" unless the polls showed sufficient support among the party base.
