Glad I was able to find this quote a year old that was verified by new out today.

Apparently this underground river is very deep underground and still flows. I bet it used to flow much more abundantly before the collapse that allowed the surface Amazon to flow out. Again it is the remarkable Deep Sea Fan of silt deposits in the Atlantic that accounted for this theory.
Nightlion wrote:Charles Darwin interpreted the uplift of the Patagonia region of South America in his book Voyage of the Beagle. Venice Pridiss I think mistakenly predicted that the Obidos Narrows (Manaus, Brazil) was the site where the land gave way to the flow of today's Amazon River. It is too far up stream. This map shows elevations and a better site for the collapse of the dam which held back the Sea East of the Book of Mormon days.
I am theorizing that the Amazon always flowed abundantly, only that it was an underground river through what we call the Amazon trough. And that the land above this underground river collapsed in the days when the geography of South America was changed. The Deep Sea Fan of the Amazon accounts for this continuous flow.
I think the vast amounts of water need to be accounted for and that only at high water levels the Sea East would have drained into the Orinoco adding to its great delta. Are they geological sites online where you do not have to pay to read stuff? Anybody?
