Russian court bans Mickey Mouse Sermon on the Mount

Hmmm.
A court in the Kaluga Region of Russia has ruled that a painting of Jesus Christ with the head of Mickey Mouse is offensive and banned it from being exhibited.

I wonder if the Disney Corporation would object if an image had Jesus' head on Mickey's body?

I'm surprised the insanely litigious Disney estate wasn't all over this. Perhaps they've finally given up their aggressive attempt at hobbling appropriative art.

They may have just heard about it (just like the rest of us). Maybe an international lawsuit will ensue.

I think I get his point, and it's moderately clever, though not terribly antagonistic. Easy targe, if you ask me.
If it had been Daffy Duck, though, he may have been upset.
Daffy Duck is a comic genius and anyone who doesn't know that is the real apostate.

It's true they may not have got wind of it, but it doesn't matter. They wouldn't get anywhere in a Russian court and an international court would not have any teeth (thank goodness).
