Hello Doctor Scratch,
You've been strangely reticent on this issue! One moment I see a "preview" on your blog about an entry for Mr. Simon, and then one day * poof *. Gone!
Are you not doing an entry on our favorite MPhil now?

Bump!

Hello, Dr. Cam! My apologies in responding to you so late. Re: an entry for Elder Belmont... Hmmm. I began to have misgivings about his relevance to Mopologetics after he rapidly curtailed his posting here at MDB. He severed his "liking" of "Mormon Scholars Testify" on Facebook, and in general it seemed that he had more or less withdrawn from Mopologetics. So, bearing all that in mind, the decision of the editors and myself was that a Simon B. entry simply wasn't worth the effort. Now that Elder Belmont has reappeared, perhaps it's worth reconsidering?
Personally, I'm undecided on the matter. A significant drawback is the fact that Simon has not published anything (apart from his thousands of posts). And, unlike LoaP, he does not maintain a Mopologetic blog. One could respond that The Nehor is included despite his not having either of these things, but I have to tell you: there is a strong likelihood that The Nehor will no longer have an entry on the Encyclopedia of Mopologetics in the very near future. While I remain convinced that he's a fascinating case study on the effects that Mopologetics can have on a person, the reality is that he has sharply curtailed his involvement in all of this, and thus it becomes more and more difficult to justify his inclusion.

Hello Dr. Scratch,
Thank you for taking time out of your very busy schedule and globtrotting to respond to my humble inquiry!
I do believe your blog is a benchmark in case studies of Mopologia and the effect it has on the people who prescribe to those kinds of activities. I'd feel remiss if I didn't express my desire for you to explore, a bit, the psyche of those who have become brainwashed drones in the militant fascism of Mopologetics. Are they the modern day equivalent of Nazis who slavishly subordinate themselves to a warped version of the religion they claim to defend? Are they cultural Morgbots who cannot reason for themselves and simply do what they are told? Are they Mohadists who are willing to lie endlessly about every aspect of their socio-politico-religious ideology in order to achieve an end-state win?
I don't know, but I do know your blog plays an important role in exposing not only the key players of this fanatical movement, but the effects it has on their adherents. Mr. Simon would be a case study, much along the lines of Mr. The Nehor, of the effects this insanity has on those who give themselves over to a cause sans soul.
I do implore you to reconsider not posting an entry on Mr. Simon. Please consider the historical ramifications that your work will have for generations to come. Thank you, good Sir, in advance.
Very Respectfully,
Doctor Cameron, North Carolina for me.
