I am a stay at home Mom to 3 beautiful children. My husband works hard to provide for our family and we try to have a lot of fun together. I have a food blog Stephanie's Kitchen that keeps me busy in my spare time. I love to cook, bake, read, play, watch movies, hike with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. We had an amazing ward in California growing up full of wonderful people. Most of my friends weren't Mormon until I moved to Utah. I have always had a Testimony since I was very young. I just never doubted the truth. I have never questioned it. I know that the Savior died for us so that we can be forgiven and live with Heavenly Father again someday. This truth has brought peace to my life in many ways.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday. We have Family Home Evening every Monday. We read the scriptures as a family and say prayers regularly. When we do this, our family is happier and more at peace. I attend the Temple when I can and serve as a leader for the 10 year old girls activity days. I try to be an example to those around me. I have come to know that there is always someone watching.

Growing up our family was inactive in the Church. I was baptized and would go once in a while by myself but it was very hard to go to church alone, so the times I would go were not often. I went to sevral different churches with friends but never felt the spirit. I became more active in my teenage years thanks to wonderful Young Women leaders. I remember gaining a strong testimony that the Church was true however due to one thing or another I didn't follow the path that I knew I should and made a few choices that were not wise.

When I was 18 I was married to my sweetheart who was also LDS but not active.

After a few years of being married and having a baby or two I knew that I wanted to go back to Church. My husband who was raised in a very active Mormon home was not quite ready to return to the gospel but would go with once in a while to support me. There were many tough times...me going to church alone with my kids.

Sobbing in Relief Society when the topic of eternal families would come up.

All I could do is have faith that y husband would one day express the desire to take us to the Temple. After my Mom died in 2006 I knew it was time to go, with or without him. On March 2nd 2007 I was able to go to the Jordan River Temple. It was the most wonderful experience yet bitter sweet. All I could do is have faith that he would come around. On March 28th, 2009 my dream came true and we were sealed as a forever family in the brand new Draper Temple. It was the most amazing experience I have ever had. The spirit was so strong and I knew that we were in the right place in our lives. I am Mormon because of the Spirit I feel as I do the lords work and attend his Church. I am Mormon because of the peace I feel knowing that we will be an Eternal family and that that through Christ we will live again. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. I am grateful for the gospel in my life. I am grateful for the Savior. I know he loves me and is there for me.
